set me on fire
From my experience, it only works when a burn condition is applied to you.
Voltric is correct – although I do think they should change it so Torch 4 applies the boon or fix the wording of it.
I just think the wording needs to be fixed. Something along the lines of “when a burn condition is applied to you” would work.
I feel like having Torch 4 apply fury would be pretty op. I’m already sitting at 60% crit with 1h weapons without fury, due to the grandmaster radiance trait. Adding a reliable 20% crit buff every 15 seconds would be too good. Just imo.
This is yet another inaccurate description. We need them to be reviewed. “Blocks all projectiles” doesn’t even work against fireballs, let alone trebuchet balls or catapulted rocks!
Svarty: Easy way to look at it: It blocks Projectile Finishers.
But yeah, the wording on some abilities or traits are a bit ambiguous.
I was about to start the post on this, as I feel this is either a bug or a miss-wording, but I know I choosed the Inner fire skill just because of this description, to find out it was not working.
thanks for your replies. seems i’ll have to try something else.

That’s not true, there are several spells that are not projectile finishers that get reflected by the Wall of Reflection. Maybe it’s different for Zealot’s Defense, but Wall of Reflection reflects several skills, including Fireballs and even Grenades

Indeed. Maybe I’m mistaken… This warrants further testing.
Anecdotal evidence: I do recall one time reflecting some net from an Engineer. Looked really funny.
And, other shields work on siege weapons. There was a vid a week or so ago of a Mesmer dropping a shield over a cannon, and the cannon killing itself with the reflection.
The wording in the trait lines are quite bad if you ask me..
Not only are they super non-descript or downright confusing sometimes, but they could use a bit more.. data?
“All Symbols Heal Allies”. Okay, does that include the player? How much does it heal for? Is there an internal cooldown? Does it tick or is it all up front? The answers to these questions can usually be found with the Wiki, but should be available in game.
“Allies” always includes the player. It’s either an enemy or an ally.
But yeah, the way the traits are worded leave a bit too much room for interpretation.
