A Discussion On Stickying
Stickying a specific build thread on an official forum is silly and doesn’t happen on any serious game’s official forum. Osicats thread gets bumped to death anyways by many people including the author, so all is good.
I think the mesmer video thread should be stickied. I don’t really think specific builds should be stickied but I think a post with a categorized list of links to each build thread stickied would be nice.
I’m not exactly sure why a specific build got stickied anyways. Sure, it’s a decent build, but to receive a sticky on an official game forum is a little overkill. When I see that, I interpret it as the developers or whoever are endorsing that build, playstyle and the player.
I don’t think any build thread deserves a sticky, no matter how “good” the community thinks it is. That guide gets linked into a ton of threads by the original poster anyways – seriously.

Guides, especially build guides, shouldn’t be stickied anyway. Actually build guides are the worst kind of guides and should be the last on the list for sticky consideration.
Edit: Oh look. Post Your Builds Thread
@kazhiel: That’s a good idea.
@ExZee: That thread is a good idea with bad implementation. What we need is a thread where the op is updated with links to the various builds and short descriptions to go along with those links. In that thread, people were trying to squish builds into a few posts each, and ended up making the thread cluttered, difficult to navigate, and difficult to extract any useful information out of.
Yeah, what Pyro said, the build thread ought to be designed more like the ‘post your videos’ thread where there’s an organized list with links to what’s what. Linking to other threads also allows long discussions in those separate threads about the builds that just isn’t going to happen or will just add to confusion in that "Post your Builds Thread’ that was linked.
