So this build is just absolutely awesome!
The idea came to my head while playing the “evasive signets” build someone has posted on the forums.. go check it out if you want to
I always felt like i am not contributing to my team enough and that no matter how good I play, Mesmer has no chance of having a safe place in the meta.
Everything will be explained in the video but I will list the pros and the cons here for you guys

Pros:
- Always tons of boons on yourself (which makes you a lot more tanky than the usual shatter mesmer)
- Perfect stats for dmg (crit chance/crit damage)
- -20 % condi duration on you
- Having at least 15 stacks of might all the time if you play it right (Insane dmg incoming :>)
- Spreading the boons (25 might stacks etc) you have to your whole team (feeling usefull…something new for mesmer in this Meta hehe)
- Perfect Build for 2 vs 2/ 3 vs 3 etc
- Condi remove (arcane thievery also boon steal to spread those to your team)
- Interrupts are important (that’s so awesome because no matter what interrupt build i have tried so far i never felt like the interrupts were the key of the build)
- High dmg output through shatter and/or phantasms (might stacks)
Cons:
- Boon stealing enemies like s/d thieves are ur worst nightmare (but u can kill them quite easily in 1 vs 1 fights)
- Necros (counterclass atm)
I have actually changed the build u saw in the video a little bit to improve its efficency

Welcome to the world of BI and boon sharing
Looking forward to seeing a team PvP vid if you can.

Haha i was always like who the hell would take this signet…also the wrong description on bountiful interruption just convinced me (5 might stacks per interrupt not 1) i will upload some TPvP videos using this build asap hope u check it out then!
Try offhand sword and swap the pistol trait with the sword trait. Even more AoE interrupts on a lower CD, and the phantasm isn’t too bad either
Anyways, cool guide. Hope to see more.
Btw, on what server are you playing?
This build looks pretty interesting. I have already been testing around some interrupt builds around similar to Chaos’s Mind crush spec. I would like to test this soon. Depending on the enemy comp you can even switch hoelbrak for Lyssa and it will still work nicely, as lyssa has saved my life many times against those 10 stacks of bleed

I have actually thouht about that but it feels like in a meta where necro marks and larcenous strikes are unblockable a stun is better than a block if i have to use it defensively
I am playing in Riverside atm

I have tried the Mind Crush Build but its just not good in tournament play its nice in theory but it lacks a lot concerning dmg and team support
yea the tip with lyssa is in the tips section but since my main aim is to stack might for my team i feel like hoelbrak is the way to go actually its personal preference
Seems to be a very good build with nice synergies!
thanks a lot dude!
sig of inspiration is actually very, very good. I use it with rune of lyssa…and everytime I heal I have 2 random boons on me. It helps me so much, and works well with Lyssa because I hit mass invis every 90 seconds and then transmit every boon in the game to my team!
dunno why people don’t use this signet more often, it is rediculously good

yes indeed i will actually change my runes to lyssa i guess but the only problem will be that people will use mass invisibility too offensively…
what i have played with the necro from my team so far was a timewarp lich combo with 25 stacks of might on him…awsome fun i am telling u haha
still i feel like hoelbrak is better since the boons from the lyssa runes only last for 5 secs which is really not that long
I’m kind of uncomfortable with the low number of toughness in the build, I feel kind naked with out it. I have noticed I get focused on A LOT. LOL which is ridiculous, but what adjustments would you have, to make it a little more tanky?

Just use soldier’s amulett
Hi Sensotix,
thanks for the build, Ill give it a try.
Have you considered playing it with focus?
You would have an aoe interrupt for multiple BI might stacks at once with “into the void”. Plus you’d have better mobility if forced into a roamer role.

Awesome Sensor. Also, a friend of mine just tested this out, and he’s having a blast. lol

You can play it with focus on wvw i guess but in pvp sword or pistol gives u a chance to block/stunt he enemy to disengage so i would play one of these two for sure
I’m speaking of tpvp exclusivly.
“Into the void” is, technically spoken, an aoe knockdown. So you can disengage and interrupt with it just as good as with “pistol whip”. But you can potentially interrupt more than 2 players, thats why I thought it could work well in teamfights on a node.
At node fighting, I really got to like the iwarden, too. In intense battle, a well timed iwarden+ileap combo on the node can do quite some damage.
Im for sure not at top 100 tpvp. But I think it could work well with this build.
yea i have tried it but if you have a 1 vs 1 vs necro or something similar which can happen in tpvp you really have a hard time winning this
Just tried this in WvW geared like this http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQNAW8KGRM9g48NkjUBTr0DcL3uQA-jUyAYLBZSUgIEwpPl1EogYFsIasabMlbQVxKySBwkwI-w
Very nice build, I think a lot of mesmers will be using Bountiful Interruption and Sigil of Battle to make “HGH Mesmers”, until Anet inevitably nerf it. I run it on my Perplexity build for a huge condition damage spike when you apply the long duration 5 stack but it clearly works just as well for power, especially with the Hoelbrak Runes. The Halting strikes this morning hit between 2-4.6k, that last one was on a warrior I also managed a 4.3k Mind Wrack on…
I’d imagine switching to precision/crit food and stacking Bloodlust you’d get some even bigger numbers.
Thanks for the build, especially as its something I think most WvW mesmers could make from what they have already, I saw the post this morning and was running around with an effective version of it after buying a couple of sigils.
yes i actually presented the pvp version but i am sure if u put a chaos storm on a zerg you get an insane amount of mightstacks that you can spread on your team i love it

Yep its pretty epic, I think its better with Perplexity just because of the sheer amount of damage those confusion stacks do with 25 might. However, against a “good zerg” they’ll have stability up a lot of the time so it won’t really work, but tbh given we run between 2-5 we don’t go attacking 20 man guild groups unless we get very very bored.
Also a neat trick you can pull with focus if you don’t have Halting Strike (i.e don’t damage on interrupt) is to start the battle with focus and get a quick 4, 4 off and then switch to another off hand, you can proc Perplexity and Bountiful Interruption without putting yourself into combat. I think if they take any confusion damage it will put you in combat, but if you are quick enough you can get an extra free interrupt off.

I am an only pvp player so i cant really use the rune pf perplexity haha
And yes i thought so but with a good shatter mesmer you can time that very well also if you have nullfield stability wont be too much of a problem
especially in smaller fights
Sensotix,
How do you compare this to your tpvp Shatter/Boon removal build?
My shatter /boon removal build is awesome against close ranged enemies or enemies with physical dmg when you have a bunkerish team setup..
The bountiful interruption build is awesome if you have a setup fokusing on bursting the enemies and destroying them completely especially against necros etc since they have no real disengage
Hey Sensotix, nice build. Glad to see another person making good use of interrupts and boonsharing.
I was doing some experimenting and tweaks on the tPvP build I’m working on based off some of your suggestions.. But now I’m a little confused. (Haven’t gotten the chance to settle down and see the vid though)
I only have one condition removal but it has a cooldown redutcion and my build is used in teamfights most of the time where i have a guardian to do so
the decoy stunbreak is enough because if you use it the enemies loose their target which is muuch better than blinking away because the enemies can still chase u..also with decoy you can reposition yourself …therefore you need only one stunbreak
illusionary persona is not that important in my build because once again you have decoy which lets u disengange after a big stun from a warrior and poisition urself on highground etc
And of course.. this:
SO i have tried it out and it wasnt even viable in solo q which is a bad thing:
why wasn it viable in tournys:
lack of condi remove in a condi meta
enemies had stability too often and i couldnt shatter often enough because no energy on weapons and no cd reduce on shatter
no ip for instant distortion o spike so u are most likely to be down (only 1 stunbreak) (stunwarris huge problem in tf)
its just not good in tpvp i have really tried it out
also way too much aoe for the clones to really hit the target to interrupt it in the current meta
I see all the same potential problems you detailed here. If you could explain how you overcame those hurdles, I’d really appreciate it. Then all I’d have to worry about is increasing my burst.
you dont really need the condition remove because you are teamfight orientated and there you also have condi remove from the guardian or ele or smth
Stability is not a problem since shatters remove a condition and u have arcane thievery to rip it off your enemy
because of the interrupt damage you dont need ip for the extra damage. (and u always have up to 17 might stacks so damage is not the problem)
you dont shatter from a far distance to interrupt because u mainly interrupt with chaos storm and sword #4 so thats not a problem either
also i went with blink because i have a 20% recharge on manipulation skills but not on clones so decoy > cd than blink
hope this answers all your questions:)
Love the chaotic interruption change – see build in my sig .
But … on your build I would think chaotic dampening is a must if using staff for many reasons. Apparently you’re doing OK without it?

it works without it actually i firstly wasnt convinced playing without it but its awesome especially in tournament play since you get ur shatters on the target 100% with this trait
also how do u get the build name in your description without the link?
I think Chaotic Dampening is not needed. This is very similar to Osicat’s Shatter Heavy 3.0 build which also takes Bountiful Interruption over Chaotic Dampening (also uses Hoelbrak runes).
I like the change to off-hand sword over pistol. Taking Blink over Decoy might be tough as I like the target drop on Decoy, never mind the clone that is spawned.

yea but i have 20% recharge reduce on manipulation skills so thats awesome and i am faster on the map with it

Always a trade-off I suppose, great it’s working for you. I find it extremely potent in PvP, cc is so strong you can control opponents much easier.

yea but like ur build name is in ur profile and if i click on it it get to the forum how do u do that?

awesome thanks
That said.. I’ve actually found Chaotic Interruption to be a bit counter-productive. The immobilize is just as long as the chill/cripple if not longer.. which eliminates the point of having cripple and makes the chill less effective (besides the longer skill cooldowns)
And btw.. TY for the explanation earlier. It confirms that there’s still a lot of potential in Mind Crush (which is also for group fights) that needs to be explored. From what I can gather, your three utilities need to be:
Stunbreak / Condition Cleanse / Unique team-effective utility.
Am I correct?
i actually tried to pm u but ur inbox is full i see potential in ur build and would offer to help you improve it

Granted it would be nice if the resulting conditions occured after the initial immobilize. But, it’s still good. Immobilize+chill is almost like a stun because of the increased skill cool down and forces them to blow 2 conditions. Immobilize+cripple or blind works ok because each last 2 seconds longer than the immobilize in my testing. To your point, the one thing that makes absolutely no sense is the cripple while immobilized, but I can look past it because it does last longer. The effects of CI shine the most though when more condition duration is included.
Indeed thats exactly my point and it feels so powerful especially vs mesmer ele ranger warri etc
I agree with a lot of points skcamow and chaos said about CI. The second condition could be after the skill as having an immobilize and cripple at the same time really is confusing and pointless. It seems however interrupts are getting more and more used now which is awesome. I am questioning its use as a gm trait though. Is it worth it to be gm? I mean immobilizes per interrupt can be really good but then again compare to it 5 stacks of might and another boon per interrupt. Maybe the second condition after immobilize could offset it.
Ohhhh I see you updated the build to make it have CI as well as the sword offhand. I was thinking of these 2 constantly when I tested the mind crush build to see which one was better. I honestly couldn’t find a amazing difference between sword and pistol offhand tbh. Of course, the benefit of sword offhand is you can get another trait, like aoe boon removal on shatter, which is always appreciated :D. This build can definitely be a possible new meta for Mesmer’s in tpvp. However, what do you think though of CI in your build? I believe it can be really devastating since you have multiple aoe interrupts now.

Oh… you switched around some stuff since I started PvPing today (5h of hotjoin *phew). As I said, I changed some traits and the offhand. Which – after your recent update – is very similar to your current build.
Weapons
Sw/Sw and Staff
Heal and Utilities
Traits
10/20/20/10/0
Plays very similar to my old build (Sw/Tor and Staff 0/20/30/20/0). I sometimes miss the blind on torch #4 but in general I enjoy it. I really like that boons are applied while actively fighting instead of by hiding in stealth (PU). Sword #4 is a bit harder to use than magic bullet but I prefer it this way because of blade training.
I went 10 into inspiration for the glamour cd reduction (could be switched to menders purity). Feedback is pretty nice when holding points. It also helps keeping up chaos armor to annoy your enemies. Nullfield for condi cleanse, getting rid of necros or interrupting guardians and warriors with stability. Decoy for escaping or when waiting for the heal to come off cooldown. I run Mirror for maximized swiftness through centaur runes. Just can’t stand being slow. Sadly, my build lacks the boonshare but I don’t mind since I’m playing hotjoin *g
Using a beserker amulett works out fine (for me). Still feel tanky. But the build should be alright with soldiers, too. Of course, I’d switch the sigill on my sword in that case.
I do have to agree with the others regarding chaotic interruption. I just don’t see how this is more helpful than lower staff cds. Especially, since chaos storm is one of your rupt sources.

Yea i am still working on this build and testing everyday so u can expect it to become even better but thank you a lot for your constructive feedback i really appreciate it!
Trying S/S and greatsword now pretty awesome so far
Hey guys i have added a gameplay commentary to this build guide which u can see here
Link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hFt-kQ6TA8
LOVING this build… so much fun. I normally solo roam in the WWW lakes, but this build got me back into PvP and with great success. Running s/s and GS and the damage you can churn out is devastating.
I’m still relatively noobish and constantly forget to share my boons, but learning to time my interrupts to stack the might and other boons before I share them. When you’re in a 3v3 and you share 15+ might, the tide of the battle suddenly changes.
For once I feel useful to my team as a Mesmer, which is rather rare.
yea haha i have to admit that when i first played the build i also forgot that quite often
but yea first time that i am actually feeling usefull for my team as a mesmer which is awesome
and i am really glad u enjoy this build as well!
whats the average mightstack u can get or sustain during a lets say cycle of one or two weapon swaps? think its hard to kepp 25 stack up all the time even during bossfights in pve. and whats the damage equivalent in % for 25stack (which is 875 power according to wiki)?
just asking cos i want to compare it with my actual daze/vulnerabilty sort of dumped down mantrabuild (which massivley lacks of utlities for groups of course^^)
(edited by hardloop von edgehoven.8512)
I think you might be having a wrong idea here. It is a PvP build. Not PvE. Interrupts aren’t that great in PvE, especially against bosses since many are immun to it.
When constantly swapping weapons, you should be able to maintain 9 stacks of might which will require 3 weapon swaps (20s might duration on swap +50% duration).
