Cele Shatter [PvP]
Maybe standart 44006 better? Even cele. +200 power, 20% condi duration, boon removal – it’s huge bonus. Might can be stacked only with runes, sigil of battle (or strength), mirror blade and staff AA. I try this, 12-15 stacks permanent. Maximum what i see – 22, average – 15-18.
Another question – role of this build. It’s very powerful duelist spec, you can stomp every class, even celele and celengi (with boon removal especially), with this armor and hp – easy kill thief. But mesmer – bad bruiser, bad point holder. We dont have much cleanses (see celele, shoutbow), condispam not so strong as celengi and we sacrfice our main strength – huge instant AoE burst and killing speed.
It’s only my view, bro, this build obviously very powerful.
So I’m trying to come up with a cele playstyle for Mesmer too..
When I think about Cele eles I think about Burst rotations; Burst Healing; and Sustain.
So Tried to recreate some of these
I’m still working on this.. but I’ve been playing of variations of it and it has never worked because of the different circumstances in different metas, but it might work in the Cele Ele/engi meta.
Unfortunately I think the Mesmer’s burst healing can’t compete with engi/ele at the moment. Partly because we have no access to water fields or blast finishers.

I’ve tried many variations of this like Heal mantra/6 Condi clear, But headshot spam can really screw you if you don’t have stability up, I prefer the reliability of ether feast.
Your damage is not going to be like a zerker Shatter mesmer’s but your burst rotations can still hurt if you get an interrupt and a well placed mantra of pain..

Yeah, as say Darnis, mesmer don’t have ability to burst heal. This 400 healing power quite to useless.
I’ve been using Cele Condi Shatter. It’s been great. I’ll check this thread out later though.

Cele benifits from might stacking so you would kinda want the bountiful interruption. Also, Ether feast scales pretty well with healing power and you should have around 50-75% of the time regeneration.
Besides, any other build involved with cele for mesmer would require you to run without blink and portal, which are the main skills for mesmer to have in spvp.
20 in domination wouldn’t work as well cause you lack might stacking, boon duration for the might and also a bit sustain. And let’s be honest, what do you get for it in return? Boon removal? It can work sure, but I highly doubt it will work better than 20 in chaos. And also, if you gonna just do the 4-4-0-0-6 then you can aswell just stick with zerker cause cele is never gonna be better than zerker with the typical 4-4-0-0-6 build.
For cele you need sustain and might stacking, which you get with 0-4-4-0-6. You just need to find some good combo’s like a confusion bomb of 8-10 stacks with chaos storm + mirror blade + cry of frustration. Cast this the moment someone used his condi clear and you’ll see him spam 5-7k confusion damage easily, especially with eles, engies and thieves.

Yeah tried Doiid’s build today and it was good, certainly in this meta it works well. Surprises people as well, as they expect a shatter mesmer to die easily if on point. Sure the damage does lack compared to zerker shatter, and in different meta or if teams are prepared for it then would not be as effective, but very good solo build.
Not as much pressure in team fights but I disagree about no pressure, still have decent damage once the might goes up, also the chaos storm, null field, GS5 and Moa are still very strong in team fights if you time them correctly.
I believe the damage output is solid when u reach the 15-20+ might stacks, although it still looks like an easy might stack rip for thiefs. Even other shatter mesmers should be able to remove the might stacks. Without the might stacks the build seems not to be effective at all. Haven’t really tried the build myself yet, but it seems to me that thiefs still would counter this build hard and the (standard) shatter mesmers would be superior aswell.
well in those direct 1v1 situations maybe, although not against the other cele classes, or without being an obvious pressure target themselves.
One more point that cele is not optimal for mes is that we lack aoe burning, our condition are good when they are used on full condi burst spec(also not optimal, in this game mode they not efective enough in longer battles when you have put presure on enemies), IMO burning is too important for cele/condi, and character without it always be lackluster. It is good that someone wants to remove our power/shatter chains, this build is quite strong 1vs1 but pshatter is simply more usefull for a team.

Then you’re doing it wrong. Cele maim puts out huge pressure.
I tried this build out for a bit (4 hours) with a few tweaks. Went with same traits and runes, but went scepter (battle)/pistol(doom) & staff (battle, renewal [a test…]). Utilities I used blink, null field, arcane thievery, and mass invis. I was trying to bring some boon hate to go toe to toe with cele classes so was relying on stealing might to make up for the loss of mirror blade. It actually worked out quite well against cele eles and warrs (although skill level wasnt the highest), but didn’t encounter too many engis. Still had trouble with more than 1 class focusing me but I could survive for a long time in and out of the point via kiting and I could keep it contested although holding it was a bit tougher. I think in high end play with the smarter use of aoes, I wouldn’t be as successful. Still had trouble with thieves but not to the same extent as classical zerk shatter.
Was a fun build, and I’ll test it out further. Not sure how far it can go as to high end play, but it worked out well enough in practice arena. Also unsure how useful the renewal sigil was but I was trying to work that healing power into the build somehow
Downfall would be the loss of portal, obviously.
Still was accused of playing PU lol despite almost never being invis!
44006 is probably better just cause of the boon strippage. I still like cele ammy best for that build.

It can work but it’s not as effective as zerker shatter. It just doesn’t take advantage from all the stats enough. Supcutie has tested it a lot to my knowledge and he doesn’t like it.

You couldn’t be any more vague.
I changed from 04406 to 44006 which results in much better damage and some drawbacks in survivability. Also your might won’t cap at 25 stacks all day like it does with BI (best trait eveerrrr but Shattered Concentration is too useful in this meta). I don’t know if it really destroys cele eles or maybe the torment just catches them by surprise (or i play against horrible ones…), but I usually need less than half a minute to kill them.

I don’t know what utilities you guys are running on your Maim builds, but with Cele, you DON’T need two stun breaks (decoy/blink). I think Decoy is more than sufficient especially on the lower CD.
In both my 4/4/0/0/6 build (the domination trait line has GREAT synergy with a maim hybrid build) and the more support/sustain 0/4/0/4/6 version, I run Decoy+NullField+iDisenchanter/Port (unranked/ranked).

Well since I’m here, I’ll just post the different Cele Maim builds I use. When pugging it’s really important to be flexible with your build, because you never know what team comp you’re going to have. And also keep in mind the enemy team comp. Anyway, here are the three versions I switch between:
Dominator

Arguably the best build for putting AOE pressure on the enemy team. It’s my favorite to play. The long lasting conditions slowly eat away your enemies while providing a soft lockdown. This is its most offensive version. This literally wrecks Cele Eles. Vuln sigil on your Scepter is critical for keeping enough cover condis on enemies. Staff auto attack does a good enough job on its own in this regard.

If no one is willing to be the home defender, someone has to take the job, and this version of Maim does it really well. With BI, you keep boons on you all the time, not including your access to 2-3 Chaos Armours while on Staff. Really decent at 1v2. I’ve seen some people turn this into a might-stacking build, but I think 4/4/0/0/6 is just as offensive and easier to play.

Sometimes you already have a home defender and enough condition/zerk on your so you go for this role of support instead. You focus on giving your allies Chaos Armour with your blast finisher. Glamour Mastery & Vigorous Revelation are also very underrated traits that help keep your team healthy and alive. I’ve also found that [if by the grace of Lyssa] iMage’s attack connects in conjunction with Confusing Images that the confusion burst DESTROYS enemies. It’s funny to watch! #rekt

I’ve run into a few cele mesmers in sPvP now and honestly they’re rubbish. Even with 15+ might stacks their shatters are more of a tickle than a threat (even as a full glkittenter myself). Sure they’re annoying to fight just like any mesmer vs mesmer fight can be but it only takes 1 maybe 2 good bursts to drop them just like any other class.
Honestly i think you’re just better off taking a soldiers or carrion or even rabid amulet and skipping over the total misses of Healing Power and Toughness and trying to hybrid as a mesmer. Might stacking is just not something we can comfortably rely on..
Might stacking requires a “ramp up” period where you either have to leech off of your team or meet a very specific set of circumstances in order to even really be effective.. Outside of PvE trying to “ramp up” to doing your best potential damage is pretty much a death sentence for a mesmer. We lack sustain power and passive defense in combat, something that the big and robust cele classes have way too much of.

Zerker shatter >>> cele shatter. You’re right, the might stacking isn’t reliable, which just makes cele shatter very watered down.
Cele condi shatter is strong. The only trouble I have is stereotypical Mesmer issues like decap turret engis.
