as we all know, in the next balance patch, ANET state that they will nerf DE to the point that if you already have 3 illusion, Deceptive Evasion will not generate another clone for you. ok we understand that.

how about illusion created by skills like phase retreat for example, do you think anet will nerf that too ? do you think anet will nerf the skill to not to proc illusion generation if we already have 3 illusions ?

Thanks for the feedback guys, there were some good points brought up here. This is why we wanted to discuss these future changes so that we had time to adjust to your feedback.

We’ll be discussing this change more internally. Most likely we will make some adjustments or look at other options such as replacing clones not triggering Debilitating Dissipation so it does not impact mesmer play as much which wasn’t our intent.

Hmmmm… This still sounds like a nerf to me. I mean, if you replace a clone with DE but don’t trigger Debilitating Dissipation, you’re getting all the bad things that DE does (i.e. replace a phantasm if you have three out) without triggering the clone death. It actually sounds worse than getting no clone at all. Am I missing something?

I do not believe that the ANet coders actually can fix DE the way they described.

So I am fairly sure, that the “fix” will be a straight nerf to Debilitating Dissipation. Without changing DE or how it works in combination with DD.

It’s silly they even worry about DD, or clone-death in general. The amount of condition from all clone-death Traits combined is a small fraction of what’s getting slapped on you between them/staff clones/scepter #2 & 3.

But what do I expect from a company that originally touted having an “active” combat system, who now seek to remove Vigor (because, y’know, folk dodge too much in fights.)

IMO debilitating dissapation should have a smaller aoe anyway. You don’t get that aoe range from any shatter skills (maybe ID).
