Clones from Dodge ability attack non-aggro, neutral mobs
Never had this yet, sorry.
I notice them sometimes attacking different targets, but this was because those targets were also already aggroed onto me.
Deceptive Evasion Clones should really all target your target.
I once rolled by a non-aggressive moa while out of combat and without a target and it created a clone who then proceeded to pick a fight with said moa.

There is no such thing as a 1vs1 fight when fighting amongst neutral mobs. It always ends with me getting chased by a whole horde of neutrals.
Oh I was noticing this a lot. I’d get them mostly attacking yellow or critters sometimes. The really annoying bit is they won’t properly run to shatter when commanded, meaning I’m down 1 clone shatter when I use it.
Deceptive Evasion Clones(Or as I like to call them Dodge Clones), always target the closest possible target from the point you dodge. Never your target.
That means if you dodge near a non-aggressive mob while in combat by accident, then you’ve got a problem. If you dodged near a white, no-hp critter in the field, then your clone will be short-lived.
Yeah, its annoying. But its great at the same time, when Dodge Rolling through a crowd of monsters then shattering to tag them all.

I can’t imagine that Deceptive Evasion Clones attacking neutral, non-aggro mobs was a design decision and not merely a bug in the code. Well, I suppose I could imagine it if I tried really hard, but that’s beside the point. It’s an annoying and poor mechanic and I hope that ImportantPeopleAtArenaNet™ agree with me and change it. =)

Well, as said before, if you don’t have a target and only want to flee from aggro mobs, you still want to spawn a scape goat at your dodge spot. And since illusions need a target to live, they simply target the closest enemy.
The mechanics need to differ between “targeted” and “fleeing”, which most likely isn’t a case.
I don’t really want my clones to always only attack my current target.
That’d mean dodging to create clones to run away while running through terrain becomes a serious hassle, as I’d always first have to turn around and target the mob.
Have a similar priority list like interaction? Bind to current target if exists, otherwise choose closets target.
This is not about “targeted vs. non-targeted”. This is about “aggro vs. neutral”, specifically with respect to the Deceptive Evasion Clones.
I don’t care what the DE clone hits, as long as it is already aggroed on me. I don’t care if one of my phantasms with an AoE attack aggros additional mobs, because I can address that by switching my playstyle (i.e. not using that phantasm or only using it when there is a clear area). What I cannot control is a Deceptive Evasion Clone popping out and attacking all the innocent, previously-neutral wildlife around me. If I evade a mob who is doing 1200 damage to me and the DE Clone aggros a previously neutral mob, I now have 2 mobs doing 1200 damage to me and then 3 and then 4 over the course of what originally was a 1×1 fight … so what’s the point of ever evading with this mechanic? All you’re doing is potentially inviting more damage than you initially had to worry about.
So, the issue is “attacking aggro vs. non-aggro mobs by the Deceptive Evasion Clone”. If a DE Clone pops out, I have aggroed something, by definition. There is never a case where the DE Clone pops out without me being on some mob’s aggro list. The DE Clone should attack that mob and only that mob(or any other mob on whose aggro list I already am).
Please don’t confuse the issue here with talk of “targeted vs. non-targeted”. Start your own thread or contribute to the multiple other threads in this forum which discuss clone targeting. =)
I haven’t noticed this myself. Though It would be very frustrating to be in the middle of a fight and have a clone spawn, only to one shot a rabbit and then disappear.

…
That has happened for me, and yes it was frustrating. Yes, it was one of those rabbits too.

Happened to me today, it was hilarious. Clone popped out, ran past my target, up a hill, around the corner (I think he stopped for a smoke somewhere too) and started smacking another mob.
