There’s a skill you can “buy” that immediately summons two clones. I never used to use it, but lately I’ve gotten some nice traits and stuff (double hits for winds of chaos every single time as long as I or an enemy is near my target? hell yes.) so I want to try it again, assuming that the answer to my question is yes.

Unfortunately I do so many conditions on my own I’m having a hard time testing whether or not these clones are applying conditions.

Are they? Up until now I’ve just used 2 (Summons a clone that uses Winds of Chaos), then using it again once its cooldown was over, and using 3 (summons a phantasm that does more damage the more unique conditions an enemy is suffering from) as my third illusion.

If I can speed the step of getting two clones dealing CONSTANT conditions to enemies up to taking only one single second…then, well, kitten I’ll be kicking kitten

I just can’t quite tell if that’s what they’re doing or not.

yes, clones created use the weapon’s auto attack that you were using when summoned

Yes, clones will attack with the weapon you have out when you summon them, even if you switch weapons. The reason staff #2 explicitly says so is because you have to have the staff out in order to use the skill :P

The clones do in fact cause extra conditions, but if you want to test it yourself, disable your auto-attack and let your clones attack your target for a bit. If the conditions keep stacking up, then they are inflicting new conditions.

By the way, clones attack slightly slower than you, and the bounce trait does NOT apply to clones/phantasms. Good things to keep in mind.

Yes they do I tested it myself so it’s freaking amazing to have constant supply of clones up and they just melt targets even without a warlock up xD crazy awesome

Theoretically clones use the #1 skill of the equipped weapon, even when you have picked up another weapon, the equipped one counts.

Technically they do not. Every clone attack is hard coded and can be different to the owners weapon. This is visible with staff and trident (and lacking traits). If you boost your #1 attack, you don’t boost your clones #1 attack – like the bouncing trait.
Staff clones use “ground travelling” projectiles. This may be disadvantageous on projectile reflectors (like traited focus wall). Trident clones apply confusion each attack, which makes them quite overpowered.
