I propose a union of Mesmer players who will communicate and defend the rights and stable balance of traits and builds. What else would this union do for the Mesmer community?

Probably knit a quilt. Collect butterflies with butterfly nets. I propose high tea and luncheon.

No, OMFG is to help and teach people to play Mesmer, or as a community to do w/e.

This idea is more analogous to ‘old man yells at cloud’.

To be fair, sometimes clouds can be real kittens.

If we hold a rake in one hand, and shake a balled fist with the other, it’s legit.

Oh, also, I’d rather not unify mesmers into one voice since there’s an awful lot with bad ideas who’re regularly disagreed with and consistantly shot down.

That certainly describes the average Mesmer player.

As Ross Biddle says, this voice would be a schizophrenic voice because its brain would not always reach consensus with itself. There are for example recent examples like PU (some liked the nerf, some didn’t), pWarlock (some would like a condi phantasm, some don’t) etc…

That being said, there are also things we are fairly unanimous about (chaotic dampening, harmonious mantra, etc…).

The core of the problem is that this forum is not well suited for “polls”. It is hard to see if there is a (near)-consensus on something. Because of that, the community cannot easily spread its strong messages, diluted into a mess of random blabbering.

There would basically be no difference between the union and what the forums are now. The mesmer forums are one big schizophrenic voice most of the time.

Many of us have played mesmer since the launch, through the good and the bad times. You’re not gonna get us off this fabulous profession. And I don’t know why we should go on a strike anyways. I’m loving my mesmer as much as ever!

This started as a joke but maybe I should create a guild called the Mesmer Players Union and invite people to join and be ambassadors of the class. We have OMFG for teaching but the only way to put pressure on the Anet machine to stop kittening us over is to unite as one entity and become UBER MESMER

Have the guild tag be MPU

I’ll be honest with you. I haven’t posted many of the ideas I’ve had because I feel the devs just don’t listen. For example, I can’t even recall how many times I’ve told them that if they just put weapon skins in the gemstore instead of black lion’s chests, they would have hundreds of dollars from me. I would gladly drop $20 for 5 skins of one set for almost every weapon set released. Chaos, Scientific, Balthazar, Torment… I would have bought so many of them. But instead, they nerf keyfarming, again, and claim to improve the droprates of keys. To this day, there are people that have gotten more precursor drops than keys. So here I am, farming gold and buying them with virtual money instead of real money.

I can’t take any company that would willingly give up guaranteed profit seriously.
