I'm looking for a easy-to-use Mesmer PvE build.
google for the “legion build” a pretty straight forward build based on Phantasm damage using GS and Sword/pistol
Lol PvE Mesmer has no lazy easy to use option xD everything bout a mesmer takes a lot of skill concentration thinking and a bazillion steps to be effective. Where other classes just go auto attack sometimes if u want, there’s no way u do that with a Mesmer. But bc of this Mesmers are super effective capable and powerful even in PvE and almost invincible if u use all ur wits and skills
Level something else to 80. Farm mats. Craft your way to 80 on a mesmer.
Join WvW. Pick up feedback as woon as possible. Follow the zerg.
Make friends. Follow them around doing DEs, KSing them.
Which is it? Are you lazy or do you hate button mashing classes? Mesmer, like ele, requires full concentration to play or you will die a lot. If you want a class where you can get to 80 hitting the same few buttons over and over, guardian, ranger, or even necro are better choices.
Mesmers are one of the most complicated classes due to their management of clones and illusions which are essential to not only their damage output, but their survival.
the easiest weapon to use would be the staff. The clones stack the same conditions that the staff does, meaning that staff clones are the most useful clones currently (besides trident clones that stack confusion endlessly, but most content is on land). Plus, staves can stack on the enemy almost every condition, fear being the only condition not used on the staff. Chaos storm, number 5 skill, is one of the best weapon skills in the game, in my opinion. Not only does it do damage and stack conditions on the enemy, but it also stacks boons on allies, including yourself. Chaos armour, skill 4, is a great defensive skill. When the enemy attacks, it stacks conditions on them and stacks boons on you. And skill 1 is a bouncing skill that applies conditions on enemies and boons on allies, making the staff not only a great offensive tool, but a great defensive one too.
Level something else to 80.
I have a Level 80 Human Necromancer, Level 80 Charr Warrior, Level 80 Sylvari Ranger, Level 80 Norn Guardian and Level 80 Asura Engineer. My goal in this game is to have every profession at Level 80 (call it a weird goal if you will). I would craft to Level 80 if I have the gold but I don’t.
If you bought all the mats, it might take 4 gold. Realistically it’s much less. If you already have all the crafters, then I understand not wanting to do it again.
(The only one I’m not 400 is cooking, spread out across my 5 80s).
I enjoy WvW. You can follow the zerg around and get 1-2 levels / hour depending on how fast things are moving. Crafting takes about 2 hours to go 1-400 simply do to running around, and deciding the most efficient mats to buy.
Use a staff. It’s so easy it’s silly. Just hit the skills on cd, stay in melee range, run in circles. When all skills are on cd, switch to whatever weapon choice, doesn’t really matter. After weapon swap is off cd, switch back and repeat.
You don’t really always have to run in circles. I just do it sometimes so that I feel like I’m working for my kill. This may sound cynical or sarcastic, but just try it. Seriously, you don’t even have to move alot of the time. It’s so easy.
