Yeah, I’d love any form of crowd control / physical ragdolling shatter.

So pulls, knockbacks and so on – just not sure whether it should be centred on the mesmer, or centered on each illusion.

Pull (Implosion) would be cool (like spear #5 vortex), but only problem is what do you follow it up with? Unless you specifically take mirror images to do a pull+mindwrack, but in most cases it seems push/knockback could be more useful.

I dunno, I just want to see more flinging targets around the screen, like into the void, iwave, vortex…

I agree another hard CC would be nice. Following the psychic/mental magic that mesmers deal with, I’m kind of borrowing the priest skill from WoW, but what about a psychic scream type deal?

Illusionary Horror? Give it a minute-long CD. “Shatter your clones on the enemy, each clone sends the target away in fear for 1 second.”

I don’t think it should be AoE. It’s whomever each clone is targeting. That way it wouldn’t be too overpowered. Plus, clones can be dodged.

Recharge

Reduce the recharge of all your skills based on the amount of clones shattered:
1 Clone shattered : 15%
2 Clones shattered : 30%
3 Clones shattered : 45%
(Combined with IP, 4 clones : 60%)

So for example; You cast chaos storm, it’s on a 35 seconds recharge and you wait till it goes to 30 seconds till you cast F5, it’s cooldown will drop to 30 × 0,4 = 12 seconds.

Though I don’t really know if this is possible to program so I wouldn’t mind it reducing the cooldown by 60% based on the full cooldown no matter what cooldown the skill is on. ( so if it would be 30 seconds cooldown, it would drop to 35×0,6 = 21, 30-21 = 9 seconds CD left)

Something that prevents boon/stealth application to the target for 1.5 seconds/clone and is able to stack in duration, so with 3 clones + IP it’s 6 seconds. Helps against thieves and could make some fun plays. 60 sec CD ofc. Or incoming boons get transfered to you.

-Phantasms are supposed to be living “hexes” and there is all kinds of different hexes in GW1. They are supposed to live long enough to do their job and actually be a threat. But currently, since there is so much AOE in the game, the enemy doesn’t even worry about phantasm anymore. “All the AOE will take care of them, so why even bother with them.”

So here’s an idea to try and make the enemy take note. Either the enemy deals with the phantasm or he ignores it. If he ignores it, the Mesmer has control. Allow the phantasm do its thing and spawn more phantasms (for a bigger effect) or “Shatter Phantasm” for an even more powerful effect.

The “effects” I came up with are not in stone, so anyone has a better suggestion?

We make a mini portal only the caster can use. (maybe one other person?) with a shorter c/d and shorter range. Like 60 sec base c/d (reduceable via illusion tree) and 2000 range.

I’d actually go with a shatter that changed based on the number of clones. Something like:
1 clone – pull enemies to the clone and swap places (with the clone).
2 clones – knockback + blast finisher.
3 clones – waterfield(or any field, tbh) + root around the clones (or maybe in the area between them, were they not too far apart).
4 clones (ip) – 30-50% reduced damage F1 or F2 (reduced confusion stacks instead, though this would be a pretty big giveaway) + stealth – trying to make it as if the mesmer himself was a clone.

I really like the Shatter Phantasm idea as well but i have to agree with so many different effects it would be a balancing nightmare. But if they reduce the effects to only 2 for example by splitting between range and melee phantasm i can see it working. But non of the effects should include stuns or daze in my opinion. We got that already covered with F3 and traits.

Each clone copies all its boons and conditions to allies/enemies respectively within a radius of 360.

Technical notes: There is a slight delay between shatters and other illusions are prioritised as targets. Conditions can also be transferred to other illusions (Though not you, even if you have IP).

I really like narwahl’s suggestion of bringing back stolen speed. Instead of inventing some new mechanic, just have it do 1,2,3,(4ip) seconds of chill on target and haste on the mesmer.
