They can give a CD, like they have with veil and so on, as long as the swiftness buff is on you can’t get it again, i don’t think that’s hard to implement at all… and no ones going to stick around a line to get swiftness over and over if theres a CD, cuz you’d be getting nowhere lmao. if the swiftness is for combat, there’s no reason why we can’t run over it again if it’s still there

It doesn’t actually refresh it, it just adds like 1 second to the duration so that it looks like it refreshes.

It doesn’t actually refresh it, it just adds like 1 second to the duration so that it looks like it refreshes.

That’s not entirely accurate. The symbol replaces all your swiftness with the duration of swiftness it gives… every second. So if you have 40 seconds of swiftness and you get swiftness from the symbol, you now have somewhere around 8-15s of swiftness.

Symbol gives 1s (before boon duration) per second if you already have swiftness. There is no replacing going on: I have had over a minute of swiftness while standing in one. What you may be observing is 5 “stacks” of swiftness from standing in the symbol, which blocks Retreat, SYS, and other swiftness from applying until the short stacks in front expire.

Standing in it on my Guardian he gets the initial timer and it appears to “reset” to the initial timer again when it triggers. Not using any runes, traits, other skills.

Whatever it is doing, I can be low on Swiftness time left and get more, even if it is just a few seconds by running into a Symbol. I can’t do that if I have any swiftness when I run over Curtain. No +any time, whether that be one or two seconds to make it appear to reset to it’s original applying time.

If Symbol is replacing, refreshing, or adding time by remaining in it why could Curtain not do the same?

I could be missing/misunderstanding/ignoring things (not the walking over it to stack Swiftness I get that, feel like they should be able to code something in to avoid it but I can’t say as I don’t know what their code is like) and I’m probably partially blinded by my desire for better/consistent movement on Mesmer.

Either way, it’s been over a year! A friggin year! Common!
