So I’ve tried solo roaming with my necro and from that I’ve found the most annoying class to fight is a mesmer.
So I’d like to try that out myself, though not played on my mesmer for months! So anyone care to make any recommendations?
Macros, you can use them as long as they arent macros.

You can try condition. Its easy to survive with due to alot of stealths, and does pretty good damage too. The downside is that you cant catch runners, or burst soneone down in seconds. Try the ‘blackwater mesmer’ somewhere in this forum. Im currently on mobile so i cant properly link stuff >__<.
You can also try phantasm, with sword pistol/greatsword, youre better at catching runners due to the stun/cripple/immobilize. You can also let your phantasms do damage while you focus on surviving. Use direct damage gear, and 10/10/0/25/0 traits.
Or you can go scepter/sword sword/pistol to be OP in 1v1 and win everything :P
For even more mobility/burst, try shatter. Shatter focusses on getting illusions out, and just shattering them for burst damage. 3 illusions+blurred frenzy is usually instant down for most people you meet in roaming. If they survive the initial burst, you still have plenty if evades/teleports/stealth to troll them for 12 seconds untill your burst recharges. Direct damage gear with a 0/20/0/0/30 build, with a main hand sword. 10 domination makes your burst more… bursty.

If you want to solo roam, its really quite simple IMO – Either you aim for a hybrid with >=1800 toughness and >=1200 vitality, the rest is built for condition or power/prec/crit. OR you go full berserker and max out your condition or crit damage.
Weapons doesnt really matter, they all have their pros and cons.
Bunkers* will not perform well when solo roaming – not to mention its gets boring fast without any real oomph.
*1800 toughness as I specified above is not a bunker in WvW

I don’t know if I’ve ever convinced anyone else to try this, but I find it really fun for solo roaming in WvW. Lots of stealth. Decent speed from traveler runes (plus swap in focus for occasional swiftness). And scepter apparently is getting buffed in patch tomorrow
