Hello fellow mesmers,
I’ve been playing a ;lot of lockdown mesmer lately and made a montage in PvP
Most of the clips are from TeamQ, but there are some hotjoint/SoloQ clips in there as well. I’m no where near pro level, but i like to belief that i’m decent…

Wow! This was a ton of fun to watch. Also, you move really creatively with your weapon set. For some reason, the swap->curtain pull combo has never occurred to me. Swapping to staff immediately after (and throwing in a dodge roll) would give you more distance and clones. That could make for a nice chain diversion. THEN, you pull out the Warlock, cackle cackle cackle!

And yes with multiple teleports you can do some really creative things, one of the reasons why I really like mesmer

I only saw about 6 minutes in, but that was pretty tight gameplay and we use very similar builds. I do think you’d benefit more from generosity sigil being on your sword/focus set since only staff Auto and c-storm can proc it.
Also, you shatter more than I do, but I think you’re shattering warden too soon and not getting as much dps as you could from it, and have ya tried Phantasmal Fury? Works really well with staff and focus plants.
One other thing .. I always felt chaos storm should be used right before swapping to sword set rather than when swap is still on cooldown. C-storm into I leap> blurred > shatter is brutal on groups.

Yes, I took your build as a template and made my own changes… and I clicked the wrong trait, because I do take PhanFury :/

Sooooo I picked up the Lockdown Style today, using the GS and staff combo, and oh my goodness iam loving it!!!! I score the most during PvP matches mostly. The joy of AoE Boon stripping/ Interrupting, while elegantly Teleporting in my nice glamorous outfit is more than divine.
Mesmers will always be my favorite class, and I dont even play any other chrs.

Before I get to the feedback, I just want to say even though Chaos is a very good mesmer, just see this video of me beating the snot out of him, although it is outdated and im way better now lol. Anyway, I see you have come back to the Mesmer world and started playing lockdown so I will give some advice
First thing was in your first clip, you played everything really well honestly and I don’t have anything to say.
Second clip. You were walking around and you didn’t charge your mantra which literally made me go crazy lol. It would have helped a ton against the thief.
Third clip. I think you could have let the warden spin a little longer before you shattered to get a little more dps. Otherwise well done.
Fourth clip. The second I see a rampage as one on ranger I immediately boon strip, if I am unable to remove it I mass invis and leave until the buffs are gone. The warrior also used all of his cds at the beginning as well so I think you should have mass invised immediately instead of stalling around. At around 1:50 I would have dodged mind wrack to remove the warriors stab/swiftness and then blinked to the point. Otherwise perfect execution on the warrior.
5th clip the enemy Mesmer was at 5% in downed state and you kept ressing, also dat portal.
6th clip. Your kiting was amazing but I think you tunneled on the warrior too much instead of the Mesmer focusing you the entire fight
The only thing I would recommend is try hydromancy sigil on your staff, its about a extra 1-2k burst and it actually feels impactful in fights. Very nice demonstration of CI mes, even though you followed in chaos’s footsteps of s/f staff rather then me with gs

3. lol, yes that rez/portal sucked a lot. I always try try to rez on memser, and I lways die :/

We actually met on launch day but there is no relation lol. There are like 4 chaos’ I know lol. The difference is I am a warlord and he is a petty angel

almost the same build I play on my mes, I just seem to prefer having the GS instead of the sword focus for situations when i dont want to be in the middle of the fight 24/7
