might work
It’s a phantasm build though.

Ooh, seems interesting, very close to what I use now minus the illusion bits for the +3% damage each illusion!
The +3% damage per Illusion has the problematic point, that it does only count for your own damage and not for your Illusions. Bad description yes … Illusions deal damage based on your own main stats and weapon damage as far as i know. For example – Precision will increase their crit chance, but a sigill that increases your crit chance won’t increase theirs.
That’s why I like to give my Illusion full power with +32.25% damage (1.15*1.15).

I see, I knew that Compoundin’ only affected me but the thought seemed pretty good, get myself 3 phantasms and then go in to Melee. =o
Lookin’ about Shatter Builds too, still no luck. Any thoughts on utilizing Pistol #5 for Interrupts?
As for me – to be honest – I don’t like the pistol much. I prefer to use the sword offhand since the phantasm deals about the same damage, but I’ve got a block to stay longer in melee. It depends on the situation tough.
Since I use all the weapons I like to have as much overall adventage as I can. So for me I go 20/20/0/30/0 because I don’t need the pistol trait (as I said, I often prefer sword). So I invest in more power and condition duration. The condition duration will grant longer vournability stacks and also increses the 20 in power – cribble if clones die. It synergizes very well with the staff, since you got longer conditions (more damage and debuffs), wich results into more damage for the iWarlock.
But if you like pistol – stay at 10/30/0/30/0, definitly worth it! As for pistol 5, its simly a good stun and cc. It reacts pretty fast and a interrupt is never wrong. Just sayin: Sword block can also be canceled early by pressing it again, shooting a projectile that stuns all enemies in a line.

I wouldn’t use scepter in a phantasm build because you destroy your 3rd phantasm after every autoattack chain.
I’d play Sword/Pistol Sword/Fokus… you’re meele then… know when to dodge and use Blurred Frenzy as evade not as dps skill It’s a PvE build.

Hey Lieb, sorry about the last thread. I meant to get back to you on it but.. sidetracked. x_x But alas, I make up for that here!
So lets see… Pistol/Focus means most likely they’ll be sword involved. Both offhands are good for interrupts, and you want something a little challenging, hm..
- Since Focus is so much better when traited, and reflects are hella useful, that’s 20 into Inspiration right there. If we trait Pistol, we’re looking at 20 in dueling. And the better mainhand for this setup would definitely be Sword.
So how about Sword/Pistol – Sword/Focus. Very melee-oriented, with a good amount of enemy control via reflects, focus pull, and pistol shot. The question becomes, would you rather be more damage-oriented or control-oriented? I see a couple possibilities.
For example… – 0/20/0/20/30 – I’d take Deceptive Evasion over traited pistol, and go sword+pistol/scepter+focus. (or sword/focus.. whatever floats yer boots) and Imbued Diversion (Illusions XII). Keep Scepter clones at ranged and sword clones in melee to get the most out of Diversion. Trait the sword, and I’d probably go with Glamour Mastery (thinking Feedback & Portal fun) but it depends on whatever utilities you choose.
Lemme know how you feel about that setup and I’ll list a few alternatives based off your preferences. A couple ideas come to mind.

I just can’t understand why you “waste” 30 points in illusions. You ain’t gonna shatter your phantasms anyway, are you?

I wasnt assuming a pure phantasm build. The spec I suggested would make use of both shatters AND phantasms.

How can you combine shatter and phantasms? :/ I’m sorry if I’m annoying but – when will you make use of shatter? When you finish off something, or when you just got clones out or you see your phantasms diing (red circle e.g.). To be honest, 10 instead of 15 seconds shatter CD is it really worth it? In a longer fight you won’t shatter for a long time and then more damage probably would have been better wouldn’kitten

Hallo! No worries about the last thread, it’s all good, and i’m looking for a build either way, either full shatter or full phantasms. I rarely do both, I like to focus on one of the two! ^^
@Xyonon: Honest curiosity never annoys me bro.
Both Shatter builds and Phantasm builds make use of both shatters AND phantasms, but designate one as their primary damage source and the other becomes secondary. A shatter build can blow Mind Wrack and Cry of Frustration in a single burst; then summon Phantasms in that 10 second recharge period. The Phantasms may not be traited or much priority, but still adds heavy damage. iSwordsman hitting for 3-5k damage is gonna be valuable in a shatter build, especially since it can attack twice inbetween Mind Wracks.
It works the same for Phantasm builds, though to a lesser degree. If your phantasms are dead and on CD, why not Mind Wrack shatter for extra damage in the mean time? In many cases if you’re in danger of dying, it’d be dumb not to use Distortion to save your life, even at the cost of a Phantasm (assuming the Phantasm wouldn’t kill the mob in time for you to rezz).
10 seconds instead of 15 makes a noticeable difference when you’re trying to shatter as rapidly as possible, but the cooldowns are even more important for Diversion/Distortio. Shaving 10-15 seconds off a skill is a pretty hefty boost.
@Liebnir: Shatter builds tend to be a bit more difficult (and more fun IMO.. but I’m a fan of builds where you can constantly see yourself improving and know that not everyone can play it the way you are. /conceitedDance ). What’s your priority for the build? Damage, enemy control, support? Focus and Pistol both come with some nice CC. Slap a sword on there and you’ve got CC and Damage, and I’d still say go for 0/20/0/20/30
.. Wait a sec, looking at my last post, that setup would be fine for a fully shatter-focused build. o_O Not intended but .. works. Either way, Phantasms will be contributing to damage, and you usually wanna keep iWarden up as much as you can for its projectile shutdown no matter what the build.

Well I want something I can get better with so a shatter spec would be an interesting change for once, I use to run one with GS/Sword+Focus but when I worked out GS from my builds I sort of trailed off.

30 points in illusions doesn’t mean you’re running a shatter build.

As long as you do not need reflects, you can have perfectly fine phantasm builds with let’s say 10/30/0/0/30 or 20/20/0/0/30.
Most shatter builds just go 30 Illusions for IP, but there are some nice traits for phantasm builds there too.

25 in illusions give you faster recharging phantasms, so it’s quite nice for phantasm builds as well.
I personally use a pistol focus condition build with rabid set. one volley from both phantasm is ~16 stacks of bleed, if you throw in a glamor at the same time you get some confuse stacks on as well, then shatter for more confuse. Fairly effective against mob packs, especially one with a veteran in it that you can lock on.
0/20/30/20/0 with a sceptor (debilitating dissipation, interupt stuff) or 0/20/0/20/30 with a sword (iPersona, shatter stuff)
Edit: Oh. I also use perplexity runes, so the pistol 5 and focus 4 are used to stack confusion as well.

Ooh, that seems interesting. =o
So, in closing, What would be a lovely build for Shatters with some Phantasmal Benefits, Good DPS and CC. =o
