Hey there, i’m looking for the meta build i can just copato pasterinato and own everyone right away kind of like what happened with warrior hambow when i first tried it the most efficient pu build available for mainly wvw roaming.

I’ve already got every other class but ranger and mesmer at lvl 80 and fully geared, and now i’m thinking of leveling a mesmer. I watched my friend play mesmer a while ago and it was just ridiculous. he had some REALLY random armor, (i think like exotic amulet and rings with zerker stats, and two or three cof pieces with carrion stats, rest masterwork, no runes)+ of course that prismatic understanding trait that made him really OP.

He’s not even a good player or anything, but he was just DESTROYING people, even winning 2/3v1’s. Actually he was “commentating” the fight for me while he played. What he said went something along these lines:
“-wait what am i taking damage? Stealth!”
“-oh you got shadow refuge? So do i.”
“-Nope i’m not that one guess who i am. I’m not that one either, i’m no one of those”
“‘drinks coca cola while clones are killing his enemies and he’s in stealth, not in hurry at all’”
And this is a true story. So, this made me think… if my decently skilled friend can kill people with really random gear and koi cakes, what could i possibly do with a full exotic + ascended trinkets + proper food buffs and guard stacks fully tuned build?

I’m a mid-completionist, only nearly the best is enough for me. I got full ascended on my warr and thought it was not worth it, but i’m still taking ascended trinkets for every build. Money is not a big object for me, but i still can’t afford another set of ascended armor. Weapons are just not worth it in my opinion. But hey, if you got a good pu build you can share please do so! and also, tell me why you pick certain weapons and traits. I find mesmer weapons very balanced and well designed, and i’m not sure which weapons i should take since they all look good.

@Tseikk, My opinion is that my build Hidden Cat, or a version of it is one fo the most effective PU builds for roaming.

If you’re thinking of becoming a Mesmer and don’t run one of Osicat’s builds you’ll actually be banned from Mesmering for life.

Well, I guess it comes down to.. Would you rather power and direct damage/phantasm damage, or would you rather condition damage, and extra survivability?

I enjoyed both builds and they are both solid.

Osicats Hiddencat is a Power/Crit based PU build with Great sword, Sword/Torch.

Natsu’s Blackwater is a Condition based PU build with Staff +Scepter/Torch.

Natsu’s is the more tankier of the two builds. Osicat’s does much more burst.

Osicat uses Might Runes on weapons= for fat stacks of might
Natsu’s uses Energy on Swap Runes =works well for clone on dodge for loads of clone generation.

My personal suggestion…

Don’t discriminate.
Try them both.

In all reality you aren’t going to do what your friend is doing with no effort….

He is probably much better than you give him credit for.

My only question, why didn’t you just ask him what his build is?

There’s always straight down the middle only with sword/torch, scepter/focus
