Hey guys,

Main hand Staff. Off hand Sword/Focus.

I have been looking for a Condition Dmg build for PvE e.g dungeons such as CoF, AC and fractals damage based on Condition dmg. I am having a lot of troubles finding the build that I really like. I want to do decent damage and also suppoting my team by applying boons. I also want you to post good armours (not dungeon armours, because i dont like any of them) I want to get Karma Orr armour set but dont know which one is the best one for Condition damage please suggest me one. Please post your suggestion down below.

Thanks for reading and looking forward to see new ideas.

You don’t see pve condition builds around here for a reason. Bleed is the only condition really worth stacking for damage, and mesmers just don’t do it that well; confusion currently just doesn’t work in pve either.

The fact that condition builds are generally scorned because of the bleed cap and stacking issues doesn’t help either.

So what would be alternative build using staff?

Staff is generally looked at as a defensive weapon. So really any build can benefit from it. It can even do decent damage under the right conditions. 3x Warlocks can hit hard in a power/crit build (in PvE boss fights).

I use a condition staff build and it works fine for me, although I don’t know if it is the most optimal. My build is 0/20/30/0/20 with illusory elasticity, deceptive evasion, and chaotic dampening. I’m trying to get a full set of rabid, but the Orr karma armor only has a few pieces of it.

Any builds that you suggest using staff and dealing a lot of damage?

Don’t forget that confusion depends on Condition damage to scale.
with enouth in illusions (15pt) you can have faster illusion cast, longer confusion and shatter stacking confusion.
F2 with 3 illusion can stack 6 confusion, synch with Scepter 3 you can add 11 stacks or another 5 after the firsts 6. and giving 1000+ damage with 800-1000 in condition damage.
You can alternate F1 and F2 almost all the time with 3 illusion. and more with illusion XI (Illusionary personna) adding 1 stack.

I used to use that, with Inspiration V and the signet of illusion life (20%+50% illusions life), adding retaliation to fantasmes, with 15 you can give regen to illusions, and shatter them for confusion.

With prestige bubbles or Staff 5 you can make your teamates to trigger confusion or mass confusion on ennemis. Adding more confusions stacks.

IMO it’s easyer for mesmer to stack confusion and retaliation, than fire, bleeding or any poisons conditions.

Is there any builds that cover staff full damage?

I use a 0/20/20/20/10 build for Staff / Sword-Focus with Rabid armor + Berzerker accessories :
http://www.guildhead.com/skill-calc#mmmc0mz9MMGnbmMGnbm0GGGamamamRV8070q7ofD70m8ofj

I’m not min-maxing anything, but after a lot of trial and errors, it seems the perfect build for my playstyle : mainly dungeon running as support mesmer with a decent amount of dps. I tend to shatter quite often, but clone production isn’t an issue, so I have some traits on for illusions up too.

Check out the Da Vinci Build;

Use “as is” for more support, or try the alt build toward the bottom of first post for a little more phantasm dps.

I use Rabid Twilight Armor with original runes (Runes of the Nightmare), maybe not the most efficient runes, but I never got around to change them (they seem good enough right now).

For the weapons, I have a set of transmuted T3 sylvari, so I kept the Sigil of force that went with them (+5% damage if I’m not mistaken) with berzerker exotic stats.

For the play style, I mix ranged with staff and melee sword according to what work best with the current encounter, with a lot of F1/F2 shatters for raw DPS / confusion.

For utilities, my main set up is :
- Arcane thievery for extra condition cleaning (healing already cleans one condition), or boon stealing for long lasting boons on some bosses/mobs (e.g. champion gravelings in AC, every dredge, etc.),
- Feedback up as much as can both for projectile reflections and for a combo field that grants Chaos armor for my party and me (with Focus #4 when feedback is down for reflection),
- Decoy as a failsafe when I’m out of dodges.
- Time Warp is my go to elite, generally provides a “yeah! time warp is awesome” from my guildies

I switch sometimes to :
- mass invisibility : for skipping mobs in TA (with a bad pug) and Arah (works great in conjunction with the Shadow Refuge of my thief guildie),
- mimic : extra stealth for some tricky runs,
- portal : to make the “rugby” part of arah p3 a bit smoother with some groups.

Hope it helps.

Yeah, as some people have said, a phantasm heavy build is what will do a lot of damage with a staff. Warlocks hit decently hard base damage, and scale 10% damage per unique condition on the target, meaning they hit like a fully loaded 18 wheeler on bosses (think 8k and higher per hit).

Confusion is generally useless in pve. You can try to make it work, but it will just be worse than almost any other build you can think of.

The hybrid build mentioned in this thread does look pretty good. A bit of advice for that build though: swap out deceptive evasion for phantasmal fury. Also don’t use focus offhand unless you need the utility, otherwise use a pistol or offhand sword. When not using the focus, untrait it and get phantasm hp or mantra healing, and equip mantra of pain for team heals. Also, have a greatsword with you, as there are times when the non-reflectable ranged attack come in handy.

Pretty much that. Confusion damage is dependent on how fast the target casts or attacks. NPC targets attack slowly most of the time whereas players spam skills. Go with crit and some toughness or just roll a warrior for pve.
