Not to mention you can hide your windup of Scepter #3 with the stealth from torch
As usual in a patch ppl seem to stick on bad things.
Looking at things through rose colored lenses benefits no one. Were there buffs, yea of course…some of them are very nice. However the introduction of more bugs to the class with this update should not be ignored or overshadowed by a few fixes. People should continue to fight for these things to be fixed.

As usual in a patch ppl seem to stick on bad things. Overall mesmers got a rather big buff (unless you a condition mesmer, that felt sad). The 2 sec heal reflectionhas biggest impact and rather fantastic effective when running from ppl who try to throw cripples, stuns etc on you.
Also for al who use rune of air its good for higher uptime of swiftness and with the 2 sec reflect its worth to use.
The range on block is a fantastic fix, alot of times it misses due to range it now hit ppl.
Mind stab boon strip and highest of the sword 1 hits now is aoe, another great buff for us sword users.

Osi is right, this was by and large a good patch for us. The Torch changes alone are huge.
Was a great patch IMO, yeah there are a few little bugs but nothing huge and all stuff that should be easily fixable.
Still bugged in this patch, Trident Clones do not have any weapons.

In WvW none of my clones had weapons regardless of which weapon it was. Pretty bad when it’s super obvious which one is the real mesmer.
The mirror change is nice, actually put it on my bar for more than 5 minutes which hasn’t happened since I first tried it out after purchasing it.
I can’t speak to the torch since I use a GS as my main and there’s no way I can stand how much running there is in WvW without the speed buff from the focus.
Keep it up ANET! You’re getting there but you still have a lot of work to do.

On mind stab we are aware there are two skills with this name. We are renaming one of them for the March build but for now we did indeed buff the mainhand sword end of chain skill for slot #1 called mind stab from 1 target to 3 targets.
So, have Mesmers slid so far that they are now the most in need of improvement? If not, then why “buff” them before fixing Rangers?
@Pedra. Oh don’t worry mesmers got hosed in this patch. Sure prestige and mirror are nice things. But they destroyed some staples to our class. Clones don’t have weapons in WvW anymore so the distraction factor is gone to any player with half a brain. Our spear #1 chain does not hit AT ALL making it useless, and Phantasmal Bezerker got nerfed and is no longer a combo finisher… NONE of these were in patch notes… So yeah they buffed us but they fudged up more than they improved us… It’s ridiculous.
So I was playing around with new range on Illusionary Counter/Riposte and it seems they also changed the mechanics making them much smoother. There is still a “cast time” of the actual counterattack but it seems shorter, and the teleport effect seems to be less pronounced (you only move very slightly now when performing the counterattack).
Also the clones seem to spawn right next to the target now, where IIRC previously it would spawn next to the mesmer.
All in all the block skills seem much less cumbersome to use, but I still wish they made the counterattack instant so that you could dodge roll immediately afterwards to avoid multi-hit attacks.
The 2s reflect on Mirror is just a tooltip clarification. Before the patch you can see the buff lasting for 2s, and mousing over it shows 1s meaning [1-2) seconds, for a good second. If Mirror had really given only 1s reflection prior to the patch, the buff would’ve shown 0s from the moment of casting.
If you’ve used Mirror before the patch and found it lacking, I doubt your experience would change because the tooltip said so.

Yep, that’s pretty cool. Feels way more fluid and satisfying to play that combo now.
Most annoying things for me now are that the scepter autoattack still doesn’t cause confusion as the tooltip says and that temporal curtain swiftness still doesn’t stack with anything. I’ve basically given up hope this will ever be fixed. Or any of the other trillion bugs known since release. If they fix one with every update (introducing two new ones), they’ll be done in 2020.

They removed confusion from Scepter #1 during beta as they determined it to be too strong, so it is working as intended. They just need to fix the tooltip. That said, I think they haven’t fixed it, because they are considering putting it back in, they are just trying to figure out a balanced way. That last part is just a guess on my part.
It looks like Gs phantom was ninja nerfted by them to
I hope they do then, because either scepter needs a buff or sword a nerf.

I’d like to know if this was intended…

Same, I really hope its a bug because other wise Anet is breaking their own code of ethics in which they said they want to be transparent to players.
