Guild Wars 2

So many builds have come and gone over these past few years (has it really been plural years already?). While some have fallen out of date, others simply fell out of fashion with new patches opening up new opportunities.

This thread is meant to bring to light older builds that never got to shine, despite an interesting premise and promising testing. I’ll be doing my best on random thursdays (and fighting off my Dragon Age addiction) to get up videos of older builds in action that are still relevant in today’s meta. Since I mostly PvP, I was hoping others could pitch in with ideas and clips as well, and if you have a build you previously posted and would like exhibited, drop it in the comments!

I’m still digging (and back n forth @ work). =P Link it! I didn’t wanna throw too many up at once, it takes some time to get used to a new playstyle

This was the build. the original 4/4/6 Interrupt build.

But yeah people just refer it to the 4/4/6 CI build. I (&Skcamow) didnt get any credit for devising the build.

Wat!? You and skcamow were the ones who pushed that build into the light! In fact, you two pushed my CS build OUT of the limelight with that build, which has become staple. =P

Hell if it weren’t for the efforts of you, myself, skcamow, Warlord of Chaos, and theCOREYCOLAK (where are you my favorite troll!?) lockdown mesmer wouldn’t be as well known as they are now. You’re a pioneer fool! (and also that was like the first build I thought to put here but since it’s variants have become so mainstream I was going for more oddly-traited builds)

EDIT: Scratch that, here’s the new “EchoRupt – A Mantra Lockdown Build”
Having Staff in the rotation provides for better mantra-recharging opportunities.

Just kinda curious, but why isn’t Mind Crush on here? I think that deserves a spot here since it was the original after all. I also am working on a Mind Crush 2.0 to fit this meta a little better and maybe revive the ancient lockdown arts. People are so stability starved these days so I think its time to remember the chain stunning.

I tried a few of the builds so far, namely DeathReigns and Mind Crush. The mantras are had to get into and will take some practice.

but omfg warlord you’re right. Mind Crush has the crazy chain-stun wombo combos that I’d forgotten how much I love!
