Spinning Revenge: Fixed an issue that caused the clone created by this skill to use a version of Siren’s Call that did not apply boons to allies.
Mimic: Fixed a bug that caused the underwater channel for this skill to be shorter than the land channel.
Masterful Reflection: Added reflection skill facts to all signets when traited with Blurred Inscriptions.
Illusionary Leap: Fixed a bug that allowed players to swap places with their clone after it was destroyed.

No, sword mh now only has an auto attack. In a teamfight sword 3 will always die to a guardian symbol to quote helseth, and sword 2 does leave you with 10k retaliation damage.

I guess they’ve decided to completely ignore the thread on the game bugs forum and instead just go off fixing things nobody asked for. Unbelievable.

It’s more than a disconnect, it’s as if they don’t even know it exists. Soon they will delete our npc in the mists like the Ranger one. Pyro you can uninstall now by the way, no need to follow this “class”.

This actually hurts a lot for PvE too. There were quite a few useful tricks you could play with sword 3 (and the clone dies very quickly in PvE as well, so we were always using it with the dead clone situation).

So they fixed a bug that let us swap with a dead clone, but fail to fix the fact that if a clone isn’t on perfectly flat terrain, that it will actually reach its target within the leap time…Why anet, why? Why nerf mesmers more while failing to fix the bugs first??

I love how ANet cares so much for Mesmers that they go out of their way to find things nobody consider bugs to fix, when they have a community-confirmed list of ~35 bugs and broken spells/traits that has been like that for months.

I’m a bit upset. This ‘fix’ wasn’t needed. I never heard anyone complain about it. Despite it being so awefully buggy at least the swap was somewhat reliable. Now we also have to care about the clone staying alive. Meh.
Tis a good job GS/Staff is the new meta I guess.
A totally pointless change again from Anet, this facet of ileap is not a “bug” its been in the game for 2+ years it is an inherent part of the skill’s functionality and adds significantly to the skill cap of its use. I just don’t understand the rationale behind this change unless this clone swap is causing some major server side problems for them, why not just change the wording to say you can return to the location the clone was last at even after its destroyed and keep an awesome piece of unintended (though after 2+ years I highly doubt that) functionality.
Seriously Anet you looked at ileap and the only bug you found to fix was this?

I dont think this “bugfix” was intended. They managed to add another bug as they do every patch. This time they put it in the changelog and call it a bugfix.

That sword 3 ability was also very useful as a stun break in wvw and spvp, now they complete destroy it, I guess they want every mesmer to play PU condi in WvW and I hate playing condi classes. This nerf was completely unwarranted.

Ok, here’s the deal. You used to be able to use ‘swap’ even after the clone died. It would move you to the clone’s last position and do the cleaving immobilize. This is the only thing that lets it be used in many situations.
In pve, the clone often gets instakilled by aoes, and this used to let you sorta plan a safe route to leap to and/or get through a nasty area. Now you can’t.
In pvp, the clone will often be cleaved down. You used to be able to use this to your advantage, sending the clone through a place you wanted to go to put a tether to go back to. Now you can’t.
In large group WvW, the clone dies almost instantly. The only reason this skill worked at all was this now removed functionality.
To expand on wvw and mainhand sword. Blurred frenzy will kill you on retaliation. The autoattack is not particularly high damage. Now the third skill is completely useless. I honestly can’t see a reason to use mainhand sword in wvw now. In fact, I only see reasons to actively avoid it.

So basically it took them over 2 years to notice this “bug”. Nice … I guess the focus will be fixed in 2 years aswell then.
This is disheartening…there’s plenty of other stuff that needs more urgent fixing than I-leap ever did… not to mention it even isn’t fixed since this skill fails constantly as soon as it’s not on flat terrain.

@Fay: I agree with your analysis, but considering the other weapons suck more, sword is still the best.
I don’t have a problem with this update if Anet can get its act together and fix the rest of the skill. If I can’t leap to someone, I don’t care how the skill wasn’t acting as intended. It’s still not acting as intended. All you give us are nerfs.
Combine and reverse the skill.
-Create ordinary clone at current location. Teleport/leap to enemy.
On teleport: Cripple enemy.
On leap clone death: Immobilize enemy.
Rationale: We lose our second combo finisher and forced immobilize, but for once we have a clone that actually punishes AoEs… AND we hold on to the mobility, even if slightly reduced.
(Clone death effect is immob because we already have a cripple on death trait, of course.)
Optional: Chained effect to teleport back to original spot. I don’t like this though because that’s pretty much identical to a thief skill.

Seriously anet this is one of the worse decisions you’ve made to this game so far it really makes me question if you actually care for any of your player base at all. You should’ve first fixed a bug that is blatantly breaking for mesmer(ie warden not working properly) instead of fixing a supposed bug that will nerf mesmer. Maybe this bug fix wouldn’t be so bad if you actually fixed the iLeap in the first place so it would actually reach its target 99% of the time.

There’s GS/Staff shatter build, it’s still pretty good, but only when roaming. In zergs it lose quite a lot of its potential, since GS suffers a lot from Reta and Staff support and survivability really don’t make a difference…

Define ‘suck more’.
Skill 3 effectively does not exist.
Skill 2 has a high chance of actually killing you.
Skill 1 has ok cleave and a boon strip.
So we have 1 good thing, 1 wasted slot, and 1 bad thing. Compare that to…scepter. Skill 1 is slow and doesn’t do good damage. Skill 2 is a block and torment on something. Skill 3 is decent aoe that won’t kill you like blurred frenzy.

The most irritating thing is I have just done Rodgort, but now Sword/X is starting to suck in a level even in raids I’m thinking to use GS/Staff…

@Fay: I present you my Definition of “suck more”.
Scepter1 doesnt do " no good damage" it does no damage, even in full berserker a warrior heals passivly while you autoattack him.
Scepter2 usually applies torment to a random moa or cow your clones added to the fight.
Scepter3 is like a big purple laserbeam pointing at your face screaming “i am the real mesmer kill me plz”
- MH sword nerfed close to unusable
- Focus bugged so badly (but I still try thanks to the reliable pull)
- Scepter #2 malicious sorcery/IC bug
It’d be one thing if the game shipped with this functionality on iLeap. We would have accepted it for what it is. Now 2 years later they take something out we have come to really rely on, especially in PvP and WvW. I don’t know if they truly understand the ramifications this has on the mesmer player base.
It’s interesting most of our bugs and ‘cough’ ‘cough’ fixes are related to our AI. Any skills that rely on illusions are now potentially endangered. I wonder what other “unintended behavior” is currently occurring, collecting dust on someone’s long bug list for mesmers.
In other news, Thieves got a nice little bug fix for their Ricochet trait. C’mon, Illusionary Elasticity anyone? Another AI based bug apparently unfix-able.

Well, these ‘fixes’ are just ludicrous. I wasn’t expecting any kind of serious bugfixing with this patch, but the fact that they’ve chosen to focus any capacity at all on these piffling non-issues (and one unambiguous nerf) when we have an expanding list of serious bugs is mind-boggling. I can’t begin to imagine the process that pushed these ‘fixes’ to the top of the list. Dev engagement regarding balance nose-dived this year and is currently some of the worst I’ve encountered in any MMO. It honestly feels like they just don’t care anymore, and it’s really putting me off the game.
Yep, I’m done with this game. Bye.
Why make something for Mesmer that works? Might as well just fix our bugs in underwater combat and change skills we don’t want changed. That’s what everyone wants!

What’s funny is the skill still appears even when the clone dies. So you can still hit it and just nothing happens. So their’s no way of determining if the clone had died if you aren’t keeping track of it. Do not rely on the skill being usable, and watch for that clone.

That “bug fix” is horrible – I can’t count the number of times that has been useful, waiting and using swap when necessary and not relying on the spawned clone being alive.
bug fix … yea … since release they let us live with it, use it and now they simply “fix” it and ninjanerf us once again, yet the f(k|ng warden hasn’t been fixed!!!
yea, i’m pretty angry right now. it sux to allways hear we are the worst class in pve (necro isn’t worth talking about these poor guys) and getting nerfed nerfed nerfed all day long … it sux a net, it really really sux!
