I never played much WvW before, allways wanted to but never felt motivated :s
Right now I do, and I think an interruption build would be pretty ok to start with? Talking about Bountiful Interruption / Halting Strike stuff.

Personally I am not really fan of the pure interrupt stuff but you should play whatever you like the most
just a note but if you use great sword and focus in roaming try and stay near cliffs so you can throw opponents of them turns a 1v3 into a 1v1 alot of the time, and it is funny as hell imagining the remaining persons face.
otherwise the build in easyface post would work well for most situation, if you find you need more condition cleanse switch decoy for null field or mantra of resolve.
As for pu builds its like easyface said depends on what you like to play, personally I don’t like play pu but I will admit it is a strong build.

GS: High Dmg, izerker for chasing, GS#5 for The Aoe Interrupt Syncing with CI
Focus: Skcamow uses Focus, also good for AoE interrupt, Cripple and Swiftness,
As you may know, Interrupt Builds have a higher skill cap making PU easier. A lot of practice for timing against other classes is needed.
For Halting Strike, I wanted to add it but not now. Mental Torment gives a solid damage percentage than Halting Strike. I have done multiple tests for it and yet to determine what formula it uses on its scaling.
So basically our build, is for the punishment/reward system of interrupts.
Interrupts root enemies while phantasms wail on them
The shatter part is the bridge that connect that gap. Mind wrack for additional damage and Shattered Concentration for boon strip.
The highlight of the build is the High Condition Duration (100%)
That is 4 sec immo on CI and Leap
4 sec chill on CI and Hydromancy
5 secs cripple on zerker and CI
6 secs blindness on CI

Is PU allways condi? What exactly are the weapons etc for pu?? Sword / Torch but still condi dmg??? :/
PU can be Condi or power i run it with zerker knights calv gear gs-sw/t (obviously phantasm built 20/20/30 no clonedeath).

^that is my interrupt build. Main thing is lay down temp curtain then wait for solid interrupt like ele uses rtl to initiate and pull, drop warden, sword leap, sword burst and daze mantra, swap and gs burst, and then finish with shatter. Doesnt always work out but the reflect on focus is super helpful and not many people expect the immobilize on interrupt in wvw.
That all being said PU is way easier to play wvw roaming and holds out better when outnumbered. Interrupt is more fun in 1v1 and 1v2 or if you have a roaming buddy.
Well we are probably gonna roam with about 5 ppl. Maybe sometimes I solo. I tought it is viable due bountiful interruption → curtain, GS5 = 25 stacks?
Honesty for that kind of situation i would run shatter 20/20/0/0/30

I haven’t used it in WvW, but I’d throw in my vote for dat HappySkcamow (stickerhappy’s post). Lots of ways to customize that build, though I’d likely grab Dom V and VII instead.
Though not as strong as the HappySkcamow build, my chillruption build is a decent group control build if you want to give it a look (my sig).
The good thing is that many of these power interrupt builds will use similar gear, so you can freely experiment and find what works best.
