So I’m fairly lazy, and only tested Null Field and Feedback, but I’d probably guess that some other skills aren’t working as intended either.

In any event: Null Field lasts for around 5.3 seconds (this is including the 0.3-0.5 seconds cast time the spell has, thus really only having somewhere around 5 seconds duration). It’s correct duration is 7 seconds.

Feedback seems to last around 5.6 seconds, which is much closer to the correct duration but still seems off. It’s correct duration is 6 seconds.

All times were tested without lag and at the moment of mouse click. If there was lag, the times would still be longer. Meaning it is an irrelevant factor currently.

This is the reason I take the Wardens focus trait instead of the glamor duration one for glamor spec.

Bit of a shame really, because it really shouldn’t be that big of a problem to fix.

I was about to link the Mesmer bug sticky and make a snarky comment about people needing to read stickies. Then I read it and realized Taldren never actually listed the toolti kitten ue with all glamours as well as, IIRC, all stealths.

Basically abilities that have traits that say “<insert category of skills> last X duration longer” will tooltip for the traited value, even when not traited. E.g. the tooltip for Null Field lists the full duration if you had the 20% Glamour duration trait.

Same with our stealths and the +1s stealth trait, as well as Warrior Stance durations.

Sidenote: not sure if these tooltip errors are actually related, or if they err by exactly those amounts, but this was the common consensus 2-3 months ago, then shelved because if it took Blizzard a decade to fix the dynamic MOTW tooltip, then we shouldn’t hold our breaths for ANet to fix this dynamic toolti kitten ue.

Ok this forum is officially absurd. I can’t even type “tooltip” ||| “issue” without the forum auto-filters connecting the “P” and “ISS” and adding blank spaces between the “TI” / “P” and “I” / “SSU” to fabricate some absurd attempt to get around the filter. Nevermind that kitten is pretty kitten far from kitten, kitten, kitten, kitten, kitten, kitten, or anything else that actually should be filtered.

.. Didn’t know about the duration thing though, good to keep in mind.

IIRC Feedback lasts the full duration, its graphic is just shorter than the effect. It’s 8 sec traited so that tooltip is right (though it doesn’t update), but every other glamour is shorter than described.

Well at least now we know.

That explains why you can Phase Retreat from a Null Field shortly after it’s graphic is already gone and still get Chaos Armor from the leap combo finisher.
