DETAILS: It is time! It is finally time! Check back for more details soon, but this sunday we are going to host the first OMFG Mesmer Fashion Show! We will have a panel of judges watch as contestants walk up and down a runway and show off their Mesmer!
Categories include:
Most Fashionable: Mens
Most Fashionable: Womens
Best Use of Effects
Best Mesmer Name
And maybe more! Prizes will go to the first place winners in each category, and will be open to any and all Mesmer who wants to participate, so even if your friends aren’t in OMFG, come invite them to join the fun!
@Daniel Handler I’d love to be able to do this at the same time for both US and EU, let me know if you’re available to help coordinate and if anyone else wants to volunteer to be on the coordination crew, please help out!
Does everyone participate with only one character or can we use more mesmers? Personally I only play one character but there are some players around who have maaany mesmers. I guess some of them would like to show off all of their characters.
Will judges/planners also be able to participate?
How to become judge?
How will the judges rate? I guess best would be the sum of 0-10 Points per judge (with 10 as best) devided by number of judges to create a ranking.
Will the results be posted in the forums?
Wouldn’t the place around the Lyssa statue in Divinity’s Reach be the best and most fitting place for such a mesmer event?

And unfortunately due to a change of plans, the EU contest will be hosted next week! This gives us time to do a trial run of the contest, see how everything works, and have an ever better one the next time

From left to right in the first picture we have: Traxxex, Celeste Winters, Soldrana (J), Tamiyo, Solanyse (J) Marcus Bryant, and Lorien. I’m terribly sorry Lorien, I didn’t write down your name and only remember the first part of it. And Aeoldyn is next to Traxxex in the next two pictures on the far left.
Traxxex won Best Overall.
Celeste Winters won Best Dressed Female Mesmer.
Tamiyo won Best Use of Purple for Females.
Marcus Bryant won Best Dressed Male Mesmer.
Lorien won Best Use of Purple for Males.

Ha ha you are very definitely black sensei. The gray is from the “moonlight” since this is a night time picture. You mean you just now believe me? I’ve sent you pictures of Aeol before! There is a purple tinge for your pattern and in your… “hair,” but that is all the purple on you I see aside from dyes.
Also… these screens were taken on my tablet so it was considerably dark and I had to lighten them up just so that you didn’t look like a black blob on the end there.
Alright folks! Here is part one of the video, which allows you to see all of the contestants and the beginning. I wanna extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in making this a success. We definitely learned a lot from the event in order to make it better for the next time. I’ll be updating this specific post to write things of note.

I wanna extend a special thank you to Calliope (Solanyse) and SuFlea (Soldrana) for making this entire thing possible. I’m not the best at organizing and I pulled their help at the last possible minute and they STILL made everything go fantastically. In the future I promise I’ll be more organized about this, so they’ll be less time for people to wait, and easier for the judges to judge.
Again, I take all responsibility for any dysfunction that occurred due to my lack of proper preparation but this was an excellent turnout and hopefully the first of many events in the future.

I mean, I should just add, when I go to the produce section and have a look around, yes I’m looking to pick something up. But that thing isn’t the nearest lettuce, cabbage, or bunch of celery.
It was a lot of fun! I was happy that my sylvari was a finalist.
My friend wanted to come but she’s a thief and I said if a thief showed up to a Mesmer convention they would all scatter like kittenroaches when you turn the lights on ;-;
