Guild Wars 2

Hey everyone.
So the discussion of a guild website has finally come up, and I’m surprised that it hasn’t already. Thanks to Stickerhappy and a few other contributors, I guess it’s time to put it out there and see what you all think. It would allow events and other things to be organized much more efficiently and more neatly, so all those pvp and dungeon runs can be put up as well. However the forum here would still be a main hive, the website is more of a localized version of it to share idea’s, thoughts and events just for the guild.

If there is enough interest here in the website we will proceed to make one, so let us know what you think

I don’t think anyone would say it’s a bad idea, and it certainly isn’t

My 2 honest cents -

I’m just not sure if the time taken to create this would be worth the benefit we’d get from it, given the small number of folks who rep the guild on-going. I’d say for the most part, OMFG is an auxiliary guild for most people, who rep it when nothing is going on with their primary guilds (which is of course perfectly fine).

That’s not to say we can’t organize events and such, but to my knowledge the past events have not resulted in many participants. I’ve heard great things about those events though and I’m sure they greatly benefited those involved.

So with that downer out of the way, at the very least it would be a good means to organize events for the few that are semi-active in the guild. At the most, it might help connect OMFG a little better, but that would remain to be seen. I for one would gladly participate and try to be active on the web site. If you’re looking for a number to gauge interest you can count me in. I would gladly support the vision for something like this.

I think a website would be a pretty cool idea, if nothing else than to post schedules and dates for events and to have one of those cool little chatrooms where people can talk even when off the game. I’d support.

… If only my internet hasn’t been as reliable as Anet balancing this past month. -_-

I’d be interested – if only to have a little more organisation with topics/subforums, rather than on here everything in one place.

A guild in another mmo I played had a website aswell, and it had a chattoom kind of thing :o. I think that would be amazing if someone had a small question qbout the game that isn’t really worth making a new thread for. And sometimes chatting in real time is just more fun :P

It wasn’t free though, and I know nothing about website making… It wasn’t that expewnvie either, maybe 20 euro per year? That was back in 2008…

I’m interested! I don’t play every day, and sometimes I can only play for snippets at a time (full time job, full time girlfriend), but I’d love to try it out. And by “it”, I mean the guild. I didn’t realize OMFG was an actual guild. I’m actually in a guild, but only b/c i was randomly invited and I haven’t done anything with them. I don’t actually know what being in a guild is like. With the word GUILD right in the name of the game, I feel like I’m missing out. I usually do map exploration solo or with my girlfriend and LFG dungeons.

Which I guess brings me to a bigger question: is there a guild you guys can recommend that is fun, not too serious, and welcoming to those with questions and needing advice? This isn’t my first MMO, and my mesmer isn’t my first character, but I’ve only done 3 of the dungeons and haven’t done any WvW or PvP yet, so I still have a LOT to learn.

EDIT: When I ask about guild suggestions, I only do so because it seems like OMFG is an “auxiliary” guild as skcamow said, so I’m looking for advice for a “main” guild (you can be in more than one at a time, right?).
