Phantasm Mesmers, What heal for PvE...
Mantra of Resto with Centaur runes.
I’m cheap, but I’m speedy.
I have fewer “OH kitten” moments after a lot of practice (and constantly hitting heal for group swiftness). Before that, I preferred mirror (or whatever the reflect heal is).
They had to SPAWN MORE OVERFLOWS!
Ether Signet for about 70% of all pve and most solo content. Mainly stuff where I might take a bit damage here and there but don’t feel like casting the heal. Makes lots of stuff auto-mode. The stuff where prepatch I would take some damage and cast Ether Feast once my health hits 50-60%.
Ether Feast for just about anything else. Stuff where I know I might take a hard hit. Fractal level 40+ I might go with Ether Feast all the time since I don’t feel like switching (though not to heal “hard” hits, those kill you outright. More deal with some aoe damage that piled up). Ether Feast hps is superior to Ether Signet especially since it provides max heal when needed, unlike Ether Signet which is out for 35 sec once cast(untraited).
Running a 10/20/0/25/15 build and don’t feel like reworking it for MoR. Mirror is nice, but since I have Focus traited and usually feedback as one of my utilities I prefer Ether Feast.
The signet does not recharge your phantasm’s skills. It recharges your phantasm summoning skills.
Ether feast still the best heal unless you run a damage build (30 dueling and 3 mantras, thus taking Mantra of Healing).
Signet of the ether is by far the best heal in pve now. Since proper play in pve means that you really should almost never need to heal, you can make full use of the active ability, recharging your phantasms for maximum uptime and a full 3 damaging phantasms from the beginning of a fight.
The signet keeps you invincible pretty much but I only tried it for a little. I can’t deal with the lack of swiftness on my centaur runes either. I’m just completely used to perma swiftness. I also switched to Mantra from Mirror heal. Literally perma swiftness

So in pve, yell at your teammates to buff you :p

hahaha but in open world PvE i enjoy soloing most of the time > < lol and in dungeons, yeah, I don’t feel a need for swiftness at all most of the time, unless skipping and skipping i focus on giving invisibility to the group while they buff XP
… proper play in pve means that you really should almost never need to heal …
Okay, I’m definitely missing something here.

Mob attacks are predictable and slow, you can easily dodge/block/blurred frenzy/ignore with aegis them.

Maybe you can. I sure can’t.
At least not in more difficult content like fractals and dungeons, and certainly not so perfectly that I’d be willing to sit around with no healing because I blew a 35s cooldown on a heal just to get a tiny percentage of extra DPS.

The thing about at least fractals, is that the higher you go, the harder the mobs hit.
At first, you’d think that this means you should have more toughness and bring more healing, but the mobs end up hitting so hard that it doesn’t even matter. There are many mobs/attacks that if you don’t dodge or otherwise mitigate, you’re instantly downed.
Due to that, at higher fractal levels damage avoidance is almost entirely dodging/blocking/etc rather than healing up or being beefy enough to absorb hits.
