Please make it so allies can't revive clones
I’m not a mesmer (ele, reading other forums) and I have to say YES, I fully agree with this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to res a mesmer, only to get the clone instead. This is especially bad due to the auto-targeting on F. Even if I know the real one, sometimes both are in range and F targets the clone..
While I agree fully that this… functionality needs to be disabled, for the people who don’t know how to tell the real downed Mesmer from his clones:
While partied, the real Mesmer’s nameplate will be blue as usual, the clones’ will be green. More than once I saw a fellow party member hurry to the other side of the room…
It works the opposite in PvP because an enemy can try to finish your clone instead of you. Giving you precious moments to rally, attack or revive. IMO if it is going to work that way for enemies then it should work the same for allies.
Coordination is key, and yes I have been on the receiving end of having my ally revive my clone instead of me.
Sanctum of Rall
They removed the revive symbol from Pets, not sure how difficult it would be to implement that and not have issues with pvp.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Clone is green, real player is blue….
Mesmer clones still show an NPC (white) rather than a player (blue) rez symbol over them, but it’s still awkward.
Worse is the downed clones can persist even after you rally. I’ve actually been downed and create a couple of clones, managed to rally myself only to see two of my team-mates still trying to revive my clone; only to get downed in the process xD
Garnished Toast
ild love that too. Hate seeing a friend trying to help me and end up ressing a clone.
Mesmers: the only class to mess with the minds of your allies as much as your enemies. It is impossible to run an alt with this profession as your main. Love it!!
I’ve had to resort to telling my allies when I’m downed as they’ve gone to rez my clones when I’m still alive. Several times, I’ve had to tell them which one I am. Seeing that color matters, I’m definitely going to relay that.
Aerika [HoTR] – Necromancer
we should add huge red arrow for allies on real mesmar like enemies have. that way they cant miss us
ild love that too. Hate seeing a friend trying to help me and end up ressing a clone.
I’ve actually had to laugh at myself a couple times when I tried to rez my own clone after a rally. I can’t help it, I see press F to revive and I’m there!
That said, I like the system as is, and I’m afraid if they disabled it, it would probably affect F for finishing as well.. I think people should just learn the game better, it’s not hard to tell the difference (even on an enemy mesmer).
Clone is green, real player is blue….
How people haven’t figured this out yet..yea 100 times this.
If its a clone in the vicinity throwing off targeting, that’s one thing. But it’s funny to see people run over to res clones on the opposite side of where the actual player is.
Yeah, I’ve had this happen a lot. It’s one of the many unintended side effects of clones, one other off the top of my head being teammates yelling at you for such and such while it’s your clone that’s up and about while you’re downed in some corner. Though, from randoms, it’s like verbal abuse bait.
More important than the question of how to tell clones from players is the question of why it’s even an option to revive clones in the first place.
Furthermore, if you’re quick on the revive after rallying, you can revive your own downed clone AND GAIN EXPERIENCE FROM IT. That just ain’t right. Granted, it doesn’t do anything to the clone, but perhaps that’s just an even bigger indicator that it’s a bug that needs to be cleaned up.
Might be because the stomp functionality is still tied to the rez functionality,, merely checking if friendly before acting.
