Mesmer Personality Quiz! Exclamation Points!
(edited by Chaos Archangel.5071)
You’re roaming WvW in your Mesmer/Chronomancer when suddenly an army of badkids rushes over the horizon coming straight for you. There’s 8 of them and 1 of you.
You glance behind you to check your escapes, make sure the terrain is in your favor with blink spots and line of sights ECT… You take a deep breath and get ready to dive in, when suddenly you notice you’re not the only one about to face this zerg.
Which of the elite specs would you want by your side in this scenario and why?
(edited by Chaos Archangel.5071)
tempest for sure
dragon hunter cant do anything against zerg
reaper too squishy as well
tempest has it all -good sustain as ele, good boon share, auras, stunbreak aoe
but with chrono i will port to other locatio behind them after i lure them to me or just MI for 10 sec away
Reaper. All of their Chill access, plus a Chronomancer’s Slow application? Especially when you assume that the other 8 are “baddies.” They’re getting bloody well wrecked.
For me Reapers seem like a very strong choice as reapers seem to go well with chronomancers synergy. In that type of fight you want 2 things control and damage if the reaper can fight in you wells it will only make the reaper stronger and faster and your foes weaker and slower in so many ways.
Tempest so you two can share boons as though they were sexually transmitted diseases.
Reaper: The reaper is your reverse; while the Chronomancer may control time, death always comes in the end. As a result, your abilities can advance an enemy to that inevitable end. It’s a fun combination to boot; quickening the Reaper and lowering the CDs takes away the downsides of the class, while your slows make the Reapers even stronger. If I was playing against mid-tier players who know to clump for boons/AoE reduction, this would be my ideal pairing. But, since we’re probably facing a bunch of players trying to form a mini-ktrain…
Tempest: Between your area denial, their area denial, and the ability to cross boon to over 9000 you should have no problems breaking up a herd and then picking them off one by one. Combined with all of the hasting and boons, two players would play like 3, maybe even four. It’s only downside is against a group that stacks, you’d be too easily targeted down.
I also will say the Tempest. If anything, that new elite of theirs (coupled with Alacrity) will grant Time Warp a nice shorter cooldown for some excellent area denial.
Reampancer. (see what I did there ^^)
A Druid, hands down.
Easily a Tempest. Those Shouts and AOE effects would come in handy for an escape or to support you in sniping the enemies down one by one.
A Druid, hands down.
They don’t have hands. When they gain the elite spec, they let their hands fall off to become one with Tyria.
2v8? I don’t know what horrible players you are playing against, but i’d rather run and start by picking off stragglers, because in my matchup those 8 would probably be:
- 2 Venomshare thieves
- 3 PU mesmers
- 1 LB ranger
- 2 Well necros
And there’s just no way we 2 would survive that on any spec.
I’d be happy to have a Reaper with me if I’m playing Chrono.
