Hey guys since some of you have recently asked me if I could do a series where I jump in a Solo Q and explain everything I do (where I move, what skills I use and why) I started the series yesterday!

For me it is really hard to talk while focusing on the game but I got some great feedback on my first video so I will continue doing this for sure as long as I can help you guys!

This is great stuff, Sensotix, thanks! I’ve been playing 20/20/30 interrupt build for several days now but I’m definitely fond of the classic shatter mesmer, and adding the stealth tricks to it that you do go a long way towards making it viable (instead of being predicted and dodged/blocked all the time). Will try it out for sure!

A few questions:
1. What are your damage combos? The shatter sequence is too fast to track in the videos.. Is it just dodge/Mirror/wrack, or do you throw in an IP daze first for some vuln?
2. I love Blink and can’t really live without it on my bar; replacing Null Field seems the logical option but then I have no condition defense. Thoughts on taking torch trait + blink instead of boon-strip and Null? I give up all boon stripping entirely that way though … argh. Null is great for point support, too. I don’t want to lose Mind Wrack though, as it’s the primary burst tool. I could replace Decoy but that halves my available stealth. Maybe I’ll just have to learn to play Blink-less..
3. What was your build for offensive guard?

my damage combo is usually the immobilise and then dazing him with f3 and the clones i have while using blurred frenzy…then i follow up with mirror images a dodge and mind wrack
2) i think boon strip is essential since protection can really be a problem for you..also stability….playing without blink is not so bad but you can also play gs/staff with blink kind of what helseth plays but then you dont have the stealth so your choice
3) the build can be found in the description of the guard video i have added it today
4) yea i just changed the runes for solo q because i need the condi remove since i dont always have a guardian on my team

Would love if you can make a video in the future where some important spots are slowed down and you provide commentary what are you doing and why. You know, for us slower/newer mesmer.

Maybe as a trial run to get feedback how people like it you can take some fights from your 1v1 videos, slow them down a bit and provide a commentary. That should save some time. Those 1v1 videos have plenty of interesting stuff going on there for sure.

I have to agree with aspirine… Every time I think I have mastered and tried everything about mesmer, there is even more surprises as to their capabilities. Every time this happens, I have to feel the shame of how truly amateur I am, even after countless hours of play, research and configuring, it never seems enough. I get worried about focusing on it too much, because therein lies a hidden obsession waiting to consume me.

But same happens to me..there are a lot of days where i am like: “what if i combine this trait with that skill against this class” and once it works i am like wth i achieved something (and then i am waiting for someone to give me a cookie for my work)

Haha well i have to admit since i first started solo q i only got bad impressions from most of the other players…so i am always happy when i get to fight 5 vs 5 and have teammates that know how to roam and know their role^^

his last vid was the best so far, I strongly advice any player on every skill level to see his friend necromancer playing while sensotix has edited and putted some scenes in slow motion, this is the best feedback you can get on any class while you are playing, it exacly explains in the POV of the character what he is doing.

As a reminder it takes sensotix 3-4 hours + to make this vid and this is not only feedback for the players but also for the devs .

first of all i will play all sort of classes with the current meta builds since that’s what people need atm
But after i finished that i am so looking forward to running around with some weird ape build that comes through my mind
We have a lot of time and a new video everyday is a good opportunity to bring things forward fast and to soon try out new stuff

yep exactly but after i have made all the videos about the meta builds i will go ahead and play some weird builds just for fun
