If no clones are up and you shatter for distortion or diversion does the effect happen?

I really find this useful for finishing or interupting and spec 30 into Illusions for the Illusionary Persona trait, but limits the build options available as I run more DPS versus condition damage.

It only happens if you trait into Illusionary Persona. Otherwise no.

Though, Deceptive Evasion is a half-decent alternative for a quick diversion/distortion shatter. Or launching iLeap clone like a projectile for Daze / Phase Retreat into Distortion
