Small future changes: Discuss!
Scepter 2 and OH sword 4’s animation/application instant. There is way to much aoe spam, and way to many multiple hit attacks to warrant eating so much damage/hits while waiting to land a single strike after what’s meant to be a block/avoidance of damage/attack application. The alternative is to have it block through the entire animation.
We could always do a few unnerfs:
- Blinding Befuddlement ICD.
- Chaos Storm C/D
- Chaos Armor C/D (and revert it to proccing Prot on #4 Staff usage.)
Other tweaks:
- I’m still waiting to see the ICD yanked off of Triumphant Distortion. Funny, considering that the original talk, RE: TD was that it’d have no ICD.
- Disruptor’s Sustainment needs some form of rework. As it is, Healing Power is probably Mesmer’s worst stat. Therefore, why on Tyria do we pack this Trait?
As a freakin GM, no less. - Consolidation of Glamour Traits.
- Buff the darn IMage, already. Even if his current attack were given a reasonable AoE radius, it would at least balance the C/D on ’im.

All of this right here, buff CI slightly (remove cripple or make the immbo 2 1/2 seconds, which means 3 second immbos with 4 in dom), buff cry of frustration confusion duration to 5-6 seconds base, buff CS somehow or rework it, make scepter less clunky, give Mesmer some non buggy condi removal (looking at you arcane thievery), and agree on the warlock change by Doiid.

Portal back down to 60s CD now that it’s limited. If possible, reduce limit to 10 players but also reduce CD to 30 seconds.

Sooo… Pretty much your conclusion would be to just leave every class alone or nerf every class because everyone is QQing about every class being OP? Yeah that works.
My changes are such small changes that it will never bring mesmer to a state where cele ele or engi is at the moment. Apart from ranger, mesmer along with necro are probably the least favored class in the current meta sooo… I don’t see the issue by buffing it slightly.
Besides, let’s be honest, these changes shouldve happened long time ago… What’s the reason for image being the only weapon skill phantasm to have 30 seconds cooldown, while all other weapons skill phantasm are 20 seconds? Not to mention it’s even one of the worst phantasm also.
Cry of frustration, +/- 100 damage per skill for 3 seconds? Massive for a 23-30 seconds cooldown skill.
A nerf in damage and a buff for accuracy for a phantasm to create less RNG? Probably the biggest buff in the whole list, yet not really big.
Well yeah, that is pretty much the ANet solution. leave mesmer alone but amend skill facts every now and then and pretend to fix phantasmal warden.
What “should” or “could have” happened a long time ago is irrelevant, people hate fighting mesmers in PvP, they will froth at the mouth whenever anything is done to make them even slightly better and therefore no improvements will be made to their viability at higher levels of play.
The only small changes I’d ask for currently (besides Ross’s suggestions on fixing OH Sword and Scepter counters) is for Mantra of Resolve and Concentration to get the standard 600r treatment rather than this personal space-invading 240r

You forgot the part where he will make threaten statements (as a joke) and get banned from another event.
Since these are supposed to be small changes, here’s some suggestions:
- No ICD on Blinding Befuddlement. We don’t have enough blind applications to warrant such in the first place, so you wouldn’t have to worry about too many stacks.
- Exchange cripple in CI for Weakness. Being crippled doesn’t make sense when you’re immobilized. Weakness, Blind and Chill keeps in line with effecting your enemy’s regenerative traits and ability to attack.
- Make Mind Stab a blaster. All we have is the unreliably hard to coordinate torch 4. But maybe I’m asking for too much? I like the current Mind Stab.
- Increase stack of confusion and duration of retaliation on iMage. On the rare chance that its attack hits, it should be more supportive and damaging.
- Make it so that Power Block works on auto attacks. Yes, it’s still useless against an entire class, but at least it would be moderately viable against others. If that’s too much to ask for, then 6seconds of weakness in addition on interrupt would fit nicely with the theme. Or how about not having an ICD… sigh. So much potential in this gm…
- Change Furious Interruption to steal a single boon on interrupt with no ICD. Stealing a boon seems more in line with the idea of an interrupt being “furious”. I could see some nice synergy with lockdown builds. Quickness is pretty useless.

FI: Steal x boons (All boons I wish, probably 3 boons for balancing lol) when you interrupt a foe. Interrupts now go through stability. 15 sec cd. That would probably be a fairly decent interrupt GM trait

I’ve changed my mind. I like your original idea of a Arcane Thievery every 15 seconds. LOL The argument could be made that Shattered Concentration is still stronger, because it’s AOE, so your rework of it would make it a strong single-target trait (which is where interrupt shines anyway) and worth taking.

I’ve changed my mind. I like your original idea of a Arcane Thievery every 15 seconds. Weapon/profession skill wise:
Confusing Images channel reduction. Current 3 seconds is outdated for just 5 stacks of confusion for 5 seconds.
Phantasmal Mage cooldown reduced to 20 seconds. 30 seconds is far too long for such a weak phantasm.
After cast of Ether Clone reduced. It’s far too clunky in its current state. Kind of unenjoyable to use as it doesn’t flow very well at all.
Cry of Frustration confusion duration increased to 5 seconds. Base duration is very unimpressive.
Illusionary Riposte should have more payoff for landing the counter attack and probably soaking up a load of damage that you were initially blocking. Should apply 5 seconds of weakness upon successfully landing a counter attack.
Make the mesmer versatile.
We have Shatter which work pretty well.
Lockdown/Interrupt is on the way… but I really want my confusion back.
Confusion + Torment could bring to our community new build closed to the GW1 mesmer mechanism : punishment on move or on skill triggered.
So, buff a litte bit Confusion damage (50 % nerf was a bit to extrem… 33% would have been sufficient) and make Glamour skills more synergetic ( Blinding Befuddlement and Dazzling Glamours for instance) to make us to stack Confusion easily.
For the love of your (un)chosen deity, do something about Disruptor’s Sustainment
It is, by far, one of the (if not THE) most useless trait in the game. You have to interrupt an action to get a boost on healing power, of all the stats available. It also costs 6 trait points and competes with the (not so great, but still better) other grandmaster traits.
Actually, inspiration trait line itself is a huge mess, having traits that encourage phantasm builds, but the two other grandmaster traits focus on shattering.

First why wont we have Portal icon(both Entre and Exeunt) on mini map for party and team to create teamplay around portal without using the VOIP.
Second we should have an CD icon that’s tell us how much time we have after we use Portal Entre to place the Exeunt. because sometime i want to stall the enemy as long as i can and manage to escape with my teammate

I’d be happy if they just fixed some of the more irritating glitches.
(invis not applying, despite not being revealed , Phantasmal Berserker not summoning the phantasm if cast too quickly after weapon swap, same issue with Illusory Leap. Inconsistent teleport behaviour with ledges on WvW maps etc)
I’ve not been able to properly test another gripe, which is where during large WvW fights there appears to be latency between when you think you are in stealth and what the enemy sees, resulting in players and pets chasing you despite being invisible on your screen… which is kinda bad when that is literally your only survival mechanic.

I like your idea but I feel that ripping/stealing boons would add a mechanic to the trait which doesn’t really fit the original purpose. It would be enough if Stability was ripped and the Mesmer gained Fury. This way you could attach a rather small cooldown to it or even a per target cooldown.
What about an Adept interrupt trait in Chaos which turned random boons on interrupted targets into a random set of conditions?
Making Portal more user friendly would be very nice. 1+ to that post!
For an Adept trait, that would have to have a hefty internal cooldown, which I hate for interrupt traits… I just want the icd on Power Block erased.

Ill take ripping stab off of interrupts anyday, that would be a nice buff to FI. The new trait would be: Interrupting rips stability, grants 4 seconds of fury, and 3 sec of quickness 15 sec cd. The quickness would be the only thing that has a cd on it, as if I spec into a GM trait to remove stability it better not be on a rng cd.
As for the chaos trait, i think that should be added to CI, it would need a small cd though (5-10 seconds). Perhaps immbo and convert 2 boons to condis on a 5-10 sec cd per target? Be definitely GM worthy and could easily make interrupt Mesmer viable as well as removing the so called cheese aspect of chain immboing someone with interrupts.

Confusing Enchantments: Glamour skills now deal direct damage to foes who enter or exit their areas instead of applying confusion. (tagging issue fixed)
Phantasmal Disenchanter: Cast time reduced to 1/4 second.
Time Warp: CD reduced. Was never fixed after quickness nerf which wasn’t targeted at mesmers.
Arcane Thievery: CD reduced.
(Not so little) Confusing Cry: Now removes a condition for each illusion shattered with Cry of Frustration instead of granting retaliation.
