Guild Wars 2

I really enjoy this class. I have a friend who plays warrior and ranger. It seems like neither of them are as much fun. Here are a few things I like the most:

- Great community – you can get great answers and support on this forum
- Build flexibility – despite the changes in the last patch, it seems that many builds/variants are viable
- A high potential skill ceiling – even playing the “easiest” phantasm Mesmer build, it seems like there are tons of things you can continue to learn to be more effective
- A viable strategy for every opponent – seems like most solid builds have some way to fight everything – it might take a lot of skill, but it’s possible
- Effective solo or in a group – and many times, you can use the same equipment and traits
- Really interesting mechanics – illusions/shatters, mantras, interesting elites

Maybe the best thing for me is that I just frequently get moments where I really get to smile. Whether I laugh a little when another player starts chasing my clones (and I still screw up and go after clones sometimes) or I get to use mass invisibility on a small group at just the right moment in WvW or I get to pop a feedback or timewarp in a dungeon, I really smile a lot while I play this class.

This is definitely the most enjoyable class I’ve played in any MMO and the folks on the forum are a big part of it – so thx!

Watching someone get so angry they can’t find you or kill you, that they just run away. The lolz.

Killing folk with purple/pink butterflies. You can frigging smell the hate through yer screen. Also, the fact that you never stop learning how to get better. I’ve mained Mes since Day -1, I’m still figuring out new tricks.

there’s something just really satisfying when contribute to your zerg teams like a zerg busting group all outnumbered and your veil and portals completely are the turning point of the fight and you can see the enemy completely confused or unaware and then scattering in terror xD

Also when you land a full blurred frenzy, blast them with torch prestige after u followed them around in stealth or get them with a knockback from gs, idk, those really are satisfying for me

Don’t forget the Focus Pull.

But seriously, this Mesmer sub-forum enjoys the best community with most members are active learners and teachers.

The real enjoyment of playing a mesmer comes from dancing around opponents, trolling them and watching when they waste their attacks on clones.

I really do love this profession as well.. the way you can manage the fights and the never ending tricks at your disposal (distributed in an increasing number of builds and play styles) make my day every time I log in.

yea, ive been there xD.

Tearing a group of 6 apart, killing them one by one…
but then you find out the last survivor is equipped in full sentinels and they just run away and tank all your damage :’(.

Ever since teh mesmer was announced, i was simply in love with it! then the game launched… i loved it evne more <3

I cant even imagine people ar ehaving as much fun as i have on other professions :P

Chasing groups of 3-4 people in WvW with 3 green dot on my minimap
Fighting the enemy team been sure to have 3 other people helping me.
Die orribly when I found the 3 green dot to be 3 clones XD

@eldenbri, Idd the community. I just love al helpfull ppl and the good communication between players. There is something special, like a secret bound of buttreflies between the ppl in the sub forum.

I love the large wvw battles, just before the two forces collide, when they’re standing just out of range of one another. I move a bit closer, as does someone on the other side (usually a ranger).

They inch closer, contemplating their attack I suppose. Out of nowhere, berserker slams him from the side, mirror blade hammers him hard and frickken lasers follows up the barrage.

Then it happens, that one beautiful moment when they realize their health is all but gone and that sudden panicked survival instinct kicks in. They turn and try to run, except they still have a touch of crippled left, and my illusions are already racing towards them.

Also, distortion stomping in the middle of 30 enemy, then decoy and blink away. That never gets old.

Haha Defcon, idd, or do a portal stomp in the middle of ppl and se the reaction. Best thing ever.

I really need to play with portal more, so much potential there. What I wouldn’t give for one more utility slot!
