Q:
Stronger or longer?
I prefer a more bursty playstyle, so I usually go for damage over duration when playing condition builds.
But honestly, close to half your condition duration comes from pizza. The rest is from Domination, and then you might have some runes or sigils that add a little more.
Safest bet is probably just pizza and however many points you feel you can spare for Domination.
By the way, did they fix duration on perplex runes…?
Depends what conditions:
- damaging ones like bleed, burn, poison, torment, I’d go stronger.
- cc/debuffs like vuln, weakness, immobilise, cripple, chill… I’d go longer.
Resisting temptation to burst into song. :p
The answer, of course, is “thats wut she said.”

Longer… LONGER… ITS SO B..
eh
No but for real, longer. At least, till you crossed the 75%. Lots of conditions that only get affected by duration.
Damaging conditions tick once each full second they’re up. So with respect to them, boosting your condition duration so your burn goes from 2s to 2.5s is a waste. If you’re rocking pizza and see that a mere 10% more will bump up your burning or torment another tick, then it’s worth it to specifically gear for that imo.

Talking about conditions
I think that a balance between intensity and duration is the ideal solution but… conditions can be cleared so, wouldn’t be better to try to deal as much damage in a short time frame than watered damage in a longer period?
I’m going to disregard any non-damaging conditions because your question inherently disregards them.
In general, stronger is better than longer. This is because the longer a condition lasts, the more of its damage is susceptible to being cleansed. Now, if someone has no condition cleanse, then obviously duration is better. However, I generally try to aim my building at the highest level I’m likely to find, not the lowest.
Something else to keep in mind, though, is that conditions tick once per second. If you can extend the tick duration to another second, it could potentially be worth it, but not always.
It’s not about how long it is, it’s how you use it.
Anyway, try looking at how the damage numbers change when you mouseover a skill. For example sharper images: for every 20% conD duration it increases by a second, which is about 100 damage. If you were to take a damage rune instead of duration, youd probably end up with slightly less than that 10
0 damage increase, but the difference is pretty tiny.
I’m pretty bad at number theorycrafting, so I generally just look at my highest soutce of damage and see how it changes with difference conD danage/duration. Also, if a rune were to give me 35% duration, it wouldnt really do anything for my sharper images, so I’d go 15% duration lower and get damage instead. Scepter torment is also a good one to look at, or winds of chaos/debilitating dissipation.

She wants the conD.
