We all see the reoccurring Threads “how to make X more appealing” or “Why DE?”. While I greatly appreciate these threads, as they are very effective at drilling down on one issue they often end up running into walls or have information lost on to those who don’t particularly care about one certain trait; lost on those who never enter the thread..

So I thought it might be more Productive to, while keeping the overall scope narrow to begin with, Consider Multiple Traits at a time while bouncing ideas around.

As a Starting Point.

What trait additions, Removals, and or Combinations would push Interrupt / Lock-down Builds to be more reliable and Approachable?

Example answer would be: To help Aid CI, Mesmers could use a Trait that allows a Passive / RNG % chance that, On a Critical Hit, They can interrupt a Foe’s action.

Mesmers Could also potentially use a skill or stance that allows them to ignore Boons for a short period of time to prevent Stability Spam from locking down their ability to run Lock-Down (lol… i’m tired v.v)

BE OPINIONATED! ARGUE! Use your experience and really look hard at the mesmer as a whole and let one idea carry you to another!

but be nice and don’t make me call a moderator >.>

Haven’t given this too much thought, but for CI just make it for example always blind or always chill for 2-3 secs. No rng, no cripple imo ^^. That might be enough, but otherwise make boon strip prioritize stability (might be wayy too strong) and remove rng from bountiful interruptions too and make it 5x might + fury/protection/vigor/aegis/…
^ would be cool in my opinion!

Im just saying something that might acutally make mesmers go for it over shatter in higher play, hard to say for sure though. And yes the BI and stability would very probably be too strong.

edit: Of course you are probably going to argue lockdown is already stronger in pvp because that is what 90% of people on mesmer forums seems to do =))

I don’t think CI needs much of a buff (besides the cripple removal) but I DO think that our other lockdown traits need to be raised up.

  • Furious Interruption: Reduces cooldowns by 5s per interrupt (15s ICD)
  • Disruptors Sustainment: 2k AoE Heal on Interrupt
  • Wastrel’s Punishment: Gain 3s of Retaliation per daze. (Or Furious Interruption’s trait moved here)

But as for other things, some nice Quality of Life changes would be:

- Sword/Scepter blocks now have distortion frames inbetween the counter and the hit.
- Staff 4 skill reduced CD by 10s or reworked
- iWarlock has better tracking
- Removed the ridiculous blind-glamour CD
- Removed ICD of Triumphant Distortion
- Reverted Sword 3 change so you can port to the clones last location.
- Increase staff auto attack speed.
- Clones wield offhands again, godkitten it anet
