Use their moa ability on someone who you already outnumber 3+ on 1… I hate you.

It’s very fun to do.

It also prevents a slippery thief/ele/warrior from pulling a full blown gtfo.

The difference is you can dodge Moa, and it is on a high CD. Your fault if you get caught in it.

I do not hate your comments, they are just misplaced. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. We are just using what Anet gives us as a tool. If you don’t like the Moa skill, I do not think you will get much sympathy from the Mesmer community about it. I for one feel no shame when I turn someone into a Moa or Tuna. In fact, I giggle like a little kid.

I tend to criticize fellow mesmers who moa me, XvAnything, because it’s probably the worst elite we’ll ever have. I’ve even killed some mesmers while moa’d thanks to the idiotic damage buffs ANet gave the skills Moa Morph gives you (you’re welcome, glass thieves. Ask on the forums and ye shall receive).

Perhaps you should move on. I think the ele and warrior forums are that’a’way. Your comments have been less than constructive.

Moa is actually one of our weakest elites and can only be of use with a coordinated effort. As others have mentioned, it can be dodged, blocked, and moa attack skills were buffed a lot. That you were defeated by such a weak elite and then thought it necessary to complain about it here is pitiful.

If you’re outnumbered 3-1 and you get Moa’d, it’s probably because they just want to remove you from the picture as quickly as possible, so they can move on. Very few Mesmers would ever have Moa slotted regularly in WvW.

I only use it situationally to completely lock-down and remove a pesky foe. It’s very good for preventing tanky Warriors from banner resing a Keep Lord or for removing a D/P Thief that’s trolling away.

If we had more options to prevent people from just running away when they start losing a fight we would no doubt stop using moa in place of a better elite. Sadly, if a thief, warrior, elem or even engi decide they dont want to play any more. Not much we can do but watch them just run away.

There was one time a mesmer moa’d me while he was running he was rly low on hp and i was like oh hell naw, and pecked him down. MOST SATISFYING KILL EVER

Any thief spamming heartseeker will probably lose even to an afk player tbh…

It’s fun to see the enemy run away as a cute little moa; but kudos to the ones who keep fighting

I do it because the elite is only really useful for causing complaints. And well, best used this way then.

I see no point in coming to the mesmer forums and complaining about a profession which are designed to fight by trolling their opponents. That’s like a soldier getting shot and then complaining to the opposing army because bullet wounds bleed. At best, you’ll get a, “well DUH!” followed by arrogant snobs patting themselves on the back for a job well done.

I very rarely carry it myself. I will say it’s pretty annoying when I’m fighting a 1vX situation and one of those guys decides to pop me into moa form. I mean, come on you have a distinct numbers advantage and you make me a bird.

I use Moa for the lol’s in WvW sometimes. No doubt that if I encountered you in WvW, I would make it a point to Moa you then collect your badge.

Moa’ing Jade Maw’s tentacles has been 100% of my usage of this skill in the past several months :P. It always manages to surprise a party member.

yeah, it winds me up people who complain about this skill, you were going against three people, what did you expect? -_- i prefer to put myself in situations where im outnumbered so i need Mass invis tp target break, but if i run into a thief that keeps fleeing being a troll i can assure you that moa is the next skill ill use

while the skill does have its uses and is useless in fights when you yourself are outnumbered im afraid you’re right, the skill is just used by too many to troll, why cant we have an elite phantasm
