Yes, I have 5 lv 80 mesmers – Funny Puns
(edited by Menaka.5092)
Hello everyone o/
I wanted to share some of my earlier fights with the new build based on mantra of pain and phantasms with triumphant distortion.
Build variation 1 – Build variation 2 – Video
These are probably not my best fights, I’m still learning: the playstyle is very different from what I was used to, but it’s very enjoyable.
The best rotation is probably something like iZerker + MoP, Mind Stab + MoP, Mirror Blade + Mind Wrack, but I somewhat managed to never use it in these fights, that’s how bad I am
I hope you enjoy and I’m looking forward for feedback!
Edit: I have mote footage with the same build but without the commentary here (last fight) and here (last two fights)

I play this build , you should try
I will do a video .
So funny to play 2 6 0 6 0 !
Finally using the phantasm mantra zerg build, really good stuff here. Really nice spike damage, although you’re fighting small zergs and its easier to build more zerker.
I’ll also upload some shatter stuff soon. MoP, triumphant distortion and Mind Stab are good buffs for us.
@Lord, sorry but that’s a bad version. No Triumphant Distortion, sword OH is useless in zergs and let scholar runes to pve.
i forgot , I don t play in zerg, just roaming with max 5 players.
I didn’t see enough MoP recharging to justify taking Restorative Mantras. Regardless, taking ether feast over mantra heal with two mantra traits (and mender’s purity) confuses me.
Looks good. Don’t bother with Mantra Mastery though as you’re only using MoP and therefore the cooldown reduction is insignificant. In the Duelling line, you’d probably get the most benefit from Phantasmal Fury and Deceptive Evasion (shatter flexibility). As you’re backline, you probably won’t need Blade Training either as you will mostly be on your greatsword.

Restorative mantras is very good if I find myself on a bad spot and with the heal in cooldown, and for regroups (when I don’t miss it ). I don’t feel the mantra heal is good enough for my playstyle in zergs, I would rather have a bigger heal with fast cast time every 20s for when I screw up than two small heals with a cooldown in the middle, just a matter of taste

At the moment I’m using the second variation, with Phantasmal Fury and Protected Mantras, so channelling the mantra has the double effect of giving me a bit more toughness and healing at the end.

Without triumphant distortion your phantasms will die before attacking in a zerg, and without a stun breaker you’ll die very very quickly. It might work for small scale, but I’d rather go shatter in small scale
So I’m a scrub and therefore want your input on a question: would swapping 2 points out of inspirations (losing heal on mantras and the 15% damage bonus) for 2 more points in domination for Greatsword training be a good idea?

You would lose some damage on the spike (phantasm hitting for less), but gain some power that afflicts ALL your damage, and have all gs skills recharge faster. It’s worth a try if you don’t feel like the healing is necessary for you and/or your group.

^^ this!
if you´re running in a organized group (with regroups call) Restorative Mantras is nice..
Personally, i like this one:
4 / 5 / 0 / 5 / 0

in this case, you dont have ResMantra but keep 15% phantasm strength
you also will not have triumphant distortion. i´m not sure if its worth to “try” to keep phantasms alive with TD

thanks for sharing your build, Menaka.

Still trying to learn this “ranged mesmer” stuff I’m not used to
From my experience, having iZerker hit full on first attack with +15% from domi adept and +15% from inspiration gm minor is A LOT of damage. In the video you can see about 7.8k on zerker rangers (and you can drop MoP and Mind Stab on top). I’ve seen damage up to 8.5k from this invuln izerk, so I really have a bad time renouncing it, altough I love gs cd trait.
My point is: spike kills people. Being able to spike more often and having more sustain damage is nice (overall you do more damage in the same amount of time), but if you lack damage on the spike, the enemy will never go in downstate/defeated… Hit hard when/if you hit.
