What builds are possible when DE is built into mesmer mechanism
I know its kind of…well not even close to kind of…impossible to have this but what do you guys think? It can potentially opens up a lot of viable builds that doesn’t invest in dueling. Let your imagination go wild and we can see if its truely as OP as some may suspect.

Quick list

What becomes more viable and or manageable:

CI+CS interrupt

Condi Clear Shatters support

CI Back Line Support

Condi PU

CI+IP

CS+IP

PU Support

etc… etc..

When you can throw down 30 and 30 on builds and retain the ability to fully use your classes mechanics a LOT of options open up… sure there’s still a handful of “most min/max” that will be the meta but go Look up ele builds…

I dunno – critical infusion and sharper images, plus at least one adept duelling trait are still too good to pass up, even if DE was standard.

That’s the difference. DE is 100% essential, whereas critical infusion and sharper images are merely strong traits that add to a build.

I’d still be tempted to put up to 4 points in duelling in most builds, even without DE because of the number of little gems in there, as well as the precision/ferocity.

Although I see the options for things like x/x/x/6/6, 6/x/x/x/6 and x/x/6/x/6 (yes, I subscribe to the theory that 6 in illusions will be highly desirable in most builds).

Certainly true. Just as you’re tempted to put 4 in dom for shattered concentration in any shatter build, 2 in inspiration for condie removal, etc, etc. Every line has some nice stuff, that’s how it should be. The nice stuff, however, is not required.

Wow. This is a fun, albeit masochistic, activity for us to partake in!! I think a few obvious things would occur:

• More builds utilizing Shattered Conditions —> big boost in Mesmer being able to burst while not being a paper weight in terms of survivability. I notice the buff in my heal when I go into Inspiration. Also means you can safely take some other underrated traits like glamour mastery, persisting images, vigorous revelation or Menders. Yes, there’s some interesting stuff in the major Adept line (definitely better than the higher tiers lawl)!! Who would have thought. lol
• More experimenting with Bountiful Disillusionment. It’s a subpar gm trait like most of the gm traits at our disposal, but I could see some potential there. Maybe we could even become a might stacker when you combine BI, BD and Shattered Strength?! :O
• Power Block & CI becomes less of a struggle.

Long story short, you’d actually see Mesmers being able to utilize our class mechanic effectively. You would be able to see the Chaos, Inspiration and Illusions trait lines interact more fluidly.
