I have not been impressed and continue to be jealous of others. 1 is good. 2 is ok but fools no one. 3 is not good because it only ‘works’ with a certain type of stat distribution.

So:

1 – same
2 – spawn an illusionary torch-bearer (phantasm) that casts a single-target or aoe daze every (X) seconds.
3 – same as our current ‘2’ at least. Hopefully adjust spawntime of illusion to coincide with reveal of avatar. If I had to choose I’d prefer to lose the invis component over the illusion.

Its just the portal i hate. even the AI INSTANTLY can tell which is the real mesmer. Its USELESS i would LOVE one like the Ele or Thief they have the best ones.

Ours is BROKEN.

1) Vs Thief you wont be able to teleport as they go right into stealth
2) To randon, Teleport into AoE, Teleport RIGHT next to your previous location

Hell, just adjust #2 to where it at least teleports you AWAY from the stinking enemy.
P. Rogue (#3) does decent damage, and in PvE will draw a mob’s attention to it.

Rogue only does decent damage when you are loaded on power and can crit. He does jack kitten (self typed….ha!) fornl a condition spec.

What i would like is if it teleported you away and created 3 clones (destorying the ones you have up though NOT Phantasms) that are a good distance away and find a way to have it so that we are not instantly figured out which one we are by both AI and Players, Maybe remove all conditions on down or something?

We already lose all conditions when downed.
I also like the rogue, it does massive damage in power builds :o.

I really like deception. Its a 100% stomp interupter(in a teamfight), something other professions can only dream of :o.

If we didnt have he stealth it wouldnt be 100% :P.

I dont like the #4 though. It should spawn a phantasmal berserker on each pulse and give me permanent protection while i channel it. Making it interupted by damage is also silly, no other skill in the game is interupted by that. And while were at it, it should scale with healig power. Heal +100% faster per 100 healing power.
As of now, we have no chance of killing a player if were downed and theyre not. If #4 was changed like this we wouldnt have to feel so… Close to death while downed.

This #4 would only be available to mesmers ofcourse.

You’re either bugged, or you just don’t know what is hitting you and interrupting the channel.

Its not the first time it has happened so it would be nice to see whats going on, if the combat log worked i would be able to see whats going on but that is no help what so ever.

Plenty of times i have been (and have done this) dump loads of conditions onto someone and leave them to die, i have even stood by someone as the conditions ticked they would try and heal and it would instantly be stopped (without me doing anything) and them just die.

Condition danage doesnt interupt the heal.

Keep in mind that most condition applications also do some direct damage.

A poison field (e.g. thief shortbow #4) doesn’t stop downed healing because there is no direct dmg connected to it. Shortbow #2 on the other hand gives bleeding, but also an explosion (direct dmg) which stops healing.
Most skills that give conditions also causes direct damage. The condition on itself doesn’t stop healing but the direct damage from the skill does.

I kind of disagree there, I think the downed state is quite nice a touch. It could always be improved though, I also dislike the number 2 ability. I don’t think condi users need to lament rogue (which is still quite good even with base power), since skill #1 is a condi ability at least as much as power.

This is a silly discussion. Our downed state is tremendously powerful, and this has been discussed to death in the 80 other whine threads that have complained about it. Our 2 skill guarantees a failed stomp, and that’s all you can ask from a downed state. Our 3 phantasm hitting incredibly hard is just icing on the cake.

The other skills are okay, its this one skill that is beyond useless. It needs to be usable with no target and it needs to teleport you a min distance, how many times have you guys used it and its teleported you RIGHT next to where you were? Its pathetic.

2) Ports you right next to where you were
2.1) If you are IN stealth after ported next to where you were the finish kills you
3) INSTANTLY able to tell who the real mesmer is

Well, no, that would be engineer. Warrior #2 may be bad, but engi got it worse and Vengeance is quite powerful if you live long enough to get it off.

First of all, you guys have to understand that each profession’s down skills cater to different situations. Even in a single profession, the 2nd and 3rd skills also cater to different situations. Ele’s and Thief’s stand out because those two shine the most in group fight and admit it, you spend most time in wvw in front of tower or keeps so yes ele’s down seems very prominent. Thief is good because they’re chained with Shadow Refuge. You tend to think that all downs are supposed to be defensive but they’re not. Some of them are meant to be offensive where you throw your final blow before you’re dead. They’re designed that way and they won’t be changed. Otherwise, we’d all have vapor form. Duh.

Ele has the top downed state. That’s not even a matter for discussion. Vapor form allows for actions and escapes that nothing else can even dream of.

Between thief and mes it’s a toss-up. Thief downed state is strong, but their 2 doesn’t guarantee a stomp stopper, ours does.

Neither does ours all the time. You can be teleported RIGHT next to where you were and downed thanks to that. In my opinion, Thief Downed 2 is superior due to the one fact that it isnt random.

Ours doesn’t telport us far, can port us into AoE even the AI know exactly which one we are after using it…

Make it so thakittens a min set distance, say 600 (same as Thief) or better yet make it so that we can PICK where to port and leave a a Clone where we were and us be in stealth for 2-3 seconds

I was talking about the Stomp and Blink combo, shocked it hasnt been “fixed” yet. Same goes for the Portal+Stomp combo

Because I don’t think it’s bugged. Blink doesn’t interrupt skill just like ele’s tele. Pretty much the same reason stability help stompers get through fear, grapple or gd’s 2. Unless Anet makes it so that those skills specifically interrupt stomp, then it would be another story.

I was skimming, no need to be a kitten. The vast majority of my post has little to do with the quote. In fact the ‘edit’ was to add in the quote to give relevance to the few sentences where I talked about the #4 skill.

What’s worse is that in the Mesmer forums nowadays, someone asking for something so stupid is so common place that I don’t think twice about it not being serious.
