solo wvw camps
yup works fine with most phantasm/condition/shatter builds. the main thing to know is just when to get out…
Lately I’ve been using the Blackwater build (check the forums for the build), which is a condition/invis build. I use sword/torch and staff rather then scepter, but either works.
Basically I start with staff and take out the archers first. Then I run in and drop clones/aoe till the meleers fall. If things get bad, I stealth and run out.
I try not to blow too many cooldowns at once, because people like to interrupt camp soloing to get easy kills. I kind of enjoy this, and try to solo the camp with one or two opponents hanging out as well. In that situation, it is even more important to know when to get farther back, and avoid taking everyone on at once.
I struggle to solo camps with my Staff, Scepter+torch condition build, but it’s no problem for my greatsword, sword+focus phantasm build.
I recommend going for the scouts first, because then you can easily kite the supervisor and guard whilst you chuck out phantasms or go in for a shatter burst. Projectile reflection on the scouts can speed things up quickly too. Also, you can lure a single scout out and solo them first if need be, but not at every camp.

I do it all the time. I always kill the scouts first. Their cripple and blinds are the worst. I try to kill them while kiting the melee in circles. Then I kill the warrior guard cause of his immobilize. But after the scouts are dead it’s pretty easy. In the last few months, I’ve gotten better at soloing the camps and I feel more comfortable getting closer to the scouts to kill them faster, but remember to move if the melee are on top of you.
Easily done on my mantra/bunker/reflection build. 2K+ toughness and 1.5K vitality combined with mantra healing mean I can stand my ground and still outheal multiple mobs. The supervisor is no threat when unbuffed, Guards are brushed aside (their stun is worse than their bite). Scouts are nasty as they keep chain blinding you. I generally take out them first. Cabalists are about as high priority targets. Quaggans are fun though, the poor cuties get plowed down.
Of course it take longer than any DPS build, but then again they would also get pounded if they make a mistake.
Running 0/20/30/0/20, condi scepter/torch + staff, daze mantra + reflect bubble. Do this all the time. Aggro the scout, torch 4+5, then scepter 3→scepter 2. Swap to staff and dodge. Interrupt the heals with Mantra.
I mostly have no issues with them on my Greatsword condition build. I tend to concentrate on the Archers first and will get out my Feedback as soon as possible. I try to keep a bit of damage going on the supervisor as well.
I have several stealths for when it gets a bit iffy, clone on dodge helps. I keep moving as much as possible. I try to use iZerker when they are more grouped together as to deal as much damage and get bleeding going on as many people at the start as possible.
Timing Scepter #2 well to either get the Supervisor or one of the melee as the Archers rarely move about.
Every class/build is capable of soloing camps. As a mesmer, you can actually fight right in the middle of the guards due to your clones distracting them some of the time.
So far i soloed camps with shatter, phantasm, clone-spam and confusion-shatter builds. Haven’t tried glamour, but i don’t really consider it a build anymore anyway.
Just remember to go for the archers early on. Shatters and Chaos Storm will take care of the blinds so you can get your important skills off. As i’m using focus i tend to lay down Temporal Curtain, pre-cast iWarden and pop Into the Void the moment before Warden goes off. This way i ensure that it won’t be blinded and maybe most guards will even be at the same spot (if ItV doesn’t get blinded).

It is easily done almost on any build, just take care in not being so squishy. Get your timings right, now how and when to put some distance between you and the mobs. Timing and the way you rotate from skill to skill is the biggest part of the skill I think.
It’s easy and no problem at all for Mesmers . That said I do have a highly survivable defensive build with alot of boons going on while having good phantasm dps through zerker gear and stuff like that. I use staff and gs so im just kiting non stop. Generally of course best if u take out those scouts and stuff with CC but I find that sometimes I just bunch them up and hit the supervisor and they all die easily lol.
Hmm never done a vid of camp clearing but you can clear any camp on a shatter mesmer solo. With 1 defender I usualy focus him first.
Solo non player defended camp:
I generaly Just go strait in to the mis, poping a chaos armour on the way and a clone, hit immunity and let them fire. Folow up with a chaos storm im mid and staff 2 for another chaos armour. Swap to focus and pull al in to the storm, make a warden in mid, sword + leap + swoad 2. By now I have 25 stacks of might and most are low hp. Shatter, dodge dodge shatter 2, swap to staff and end whats left.

I don’t consider a build worth anything if it can’t solo a camp. Most the builds posted on this forum can do so. I always take out the pistol users first cause they are annoying. Then the Charr then the Guild Claimer. The Quarter Master and Dolyaks usually die from AoE while doing this.
Average speed/safety is a Phantasm Build.
Safest/slowest is Pyro’s Immortal (but I don’t use it anymore after the VI nerf)
Fastest/least safe is a Shatter Build
Funnest is my Bubble Build.
These are my experiences.

kill the scouts first
This is really all anyone, playing any profession, needs to know.
Sanctum of Rall since beta 3. Mesmer since 1070 AE
Anybody doing this on their mesmers?
And if it’s possible, mind sharing some advice? Thanks
Learning the Npc’s skill animations helps a ton for example: they all raise their arm while healing, the warrior Npc’s usually throw an immobilize and then rush to stun you.
Also when they scouts drop a smoke field you can kite them out of it with ease for less blinds.
[NOX] & [Coma] – Gunnar’s Hold.
I’m running 10/30/0/0/30 shatter build (full zerker) works fine if you know how to take the guard aggro etc.
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…
