Because it’s awesome! Not as awesome as pink kittens but still.

I wrote “for female players” and not “for female characters” even tho that is sexist too, so I am sorry.

I am a man playing a female character, so that post is just showing my inability to phrase my thoughts in english well, but apart from that I am a great person obv!

On a more serious note,

The butterfly effect is a key feature of the Chaos theory in mathematics. It is also made known and popularized by movies.

Mesmers use chaos magic and thus the butterflies have been chosen as a quite unique representation of the class. I think Anet has totally nailed it when designing the class with this awesome idea.

Sure, I’ll be all over the [OMFG] guild chat! No active guild Team Speak usage for now because my terrible accent plus my current location making me nervous (visiting parents in law) won’t make it fun for anyone.

Any guy who is confident of his sexual orientation should find pink butterflies extremely cool and cute.

Could also be a connection drawn to the wide array of symbols and markings butterflies can have on their wings in order to confuse and dissuade their predators.

But not only that, mesmers are about messing with peoples heads and kitten ing them off. What would kitten you off more than a guy kicking your butt and then disappearing into a cloud of purple and pink butterflies? Pretty embarassing feeling lol

IMO, having my butt kicked by some random guy is embarassing. Seeing the person dissapear in a cloud of purple and pink butterflies isn’t ;D.

Butterflies are amazing creatures (just a bit scary when they sit on your nose), look at what I found
