[BUG] marks and bleeds don’t hit or spread correctly on ground enemies

Hello,

Since I play my necro in 3W, I’ve experienced many situations when I tried to hit some pack of player with my skill and in different situation, i dosen’t work correctly.

1. Marks (staff), many times I observe than damages aren’t applied on all players stand up or on the ground in the area of effect. (Is there any limitation by number of ennemies?)

2. Epidemic skill who spread the bleeds from one target to an area of effect. When I target an ennemi stand up, and spread my bleeds via Epidemic, the ennemies on the ground arround him (in radius 600) wasn’t conciderate by the skill. Same thing when I target an enemy on the ground and I difuse with epidemic area players standing aren’t taken into account.

When I see how many tons of damage can do Elementalists and Engineers, we are really poor with our bug (like plague signet still bug) and our useless abilities (like summon some pets who dies by one shot and no friendly interface to manage).

I really hope you want try something for correcting this class.

Well, I’ll be darned, I didn’t know that. But the wiki does say that:

As far as I know, no one has tested (and posted the results) if epidemic can spread conditions to everyone in range, or only 5 targets. It’s difficult to test, theres so many numbers popping up at once

Just go to the cluster of golems in the western corner of the Mists. You can even screen by color if you stack some poison!

I’m not really sure what you mean? Maybe your Epidemic was dodged. I never noticed it missing when the target is cc’ed. Then again i do not use it very often.

Pets, allies, and so fourth all count towards it. however priorities go:
player/enemy player>ally/enemy NPC>ally pets/enemy pets>objects

D/S/R necromancer F/A/T elementalist
S/I/F engineer Z/R/D guard

Never mind that condition damage and marks do not apply to objects in the first place (makes dragon fights with staff a case of standing around and sending out screaming hands).

the more pressing bug with marks is that downed players don’t set them off. there has to be a non-downed state enemy player in range of both the mark and a downed enemy for the downed player to receive just the conditions, and hopefully, the front loaded damage on top of it.

I dont think so… please i prefer some experimentation in 3 W situation, not in PvE…

Corruption bleeds dont work on things… like doors, siege engine….etc
Same for marks.

Not a dev, just prefer people to label their posts correctly

AOE only hits 5 targets maximum, that is/was an intentional design choice by the ANET developers… don’t believe me try laying down a arrow cart/trebuchet

Better yet do your own research.

Sorry for my english, but Its not my first language.

I change my sentence, in some situation my marks dont hit correctly 5 enemies in the area, and its append to with people on the ground too. (i use the great mark, bug in there?)

For the bleeds it’s the spread of epidemic, in 600 radius, u get 5 people who 2 peoples are on the ground, the bleed dont hit them only the 3 who are always standing.

More clear?

Are you playing Necro in 3W lvl max?

So the issue is not that AOE hits ONLY 5 targets but that bleed is only applied to people who ARE standing (i.e. not laying down) in the target area?

OK

Simple way to test

1) Port to Mysts/random location/WvWvW
2) Summon Flesh Golem
3) Hit charge
4) Use Staff 2 on laying target
5) Is it bleeding?

Yes?

Then it’s not a bug

Is the issue that the players are not getting hit by the bleed mark because they are:
1) in a ‘downed’ state
2) because they are laying down

If it’s the latter use my method if its the former

Go to Heart of the Mysts go back through the first portal and use a mark on the “downed” NPC – is it bleeding?

Here’s a better response

•(NB0081) General: Marks do not trigger on downed players, dragons, Stationary targetable targets (Turrets, Risin Fish head mobs, Downed players, Seige equipment, targetable equipment racks / supplies in many “Hearts”)

Also, test epidemic using either of the methods I provided

Is the target bleeding?

No?

Add it to the bug sticky list

Downed players get the conditions and direct damage from marks though when a living player is standing next to him. Same with objects, they get the direct damage of the marks if a mob is standing next to it. Marks just need a living mob/player to trigger.

Loved to do this on downed players, dot them up and spread the dots on the other players who wants to rescue him.
