A grandmaster with a base 4 sec of burning is completely fine. But a master that does 2k per sec, combined with loss of control of their character is a tad OP

With 2k condi dmg (not hard with stacks) terror is 1k x 2 with another condi on them, which if you don’t youre doing it wrong

Engis have that as an adept, along with tons of confusion. Granted its being moved to master, but they also have the ability to easily maintain 25 stacks of might in a fight. But there burn trait is fine? How is necros OP and theres isn’t? Necros is also a shorter duration.

Terror doesn’t hit for 2k a second, it’s around 1k (1,3k with almost max CD). Fear can be stunbreaked and cleansed.
Being CC to death by any class/stunwarrior (7-8 sec cooldown on their Earthshaker, hits for 3-4k on my survival build, saw numbers that were even higher) while taking a truck of direct damage from other source is no different than being feared and get hit by conditions damage. Except that in my case, Direct damage always hit for more, in WvW at least.

You mean a trait that is bound to a specific condition, that con be completely avoided with stability, and can only be inflicted by very few skills which can all be avoided?
On the other hand: Dhuumfire, a trait that can proc passively on everything you do and does about 70% damage of terror (only with the 50% bonus), for at least twice the duration of every fear skill but just on a 10 sec cooldown, not to mention the extra cover it provides for other damaging conditions.

Check the formula again, also the bonus damage is 50% not 100.
Either troll or oblivious to the blatant OP-ness of Dhuumfire. And since you didn’t even know the damage modifier of Terror I’m starting to opt for the latter.

i play necro since 1st beta and i DONT WANT BURNING ON NECRO! Fix our traits , give us some more sustain but lover our condi spam , buring in this game is broken and necro have realy easy access to it.

Dhummfire is one of the worst traits for wvw, If they ll give my greater marks back, they can remove it. Also condition based damage can’t be op since it’s easily removable unlike direct damage spikes/bursts. I’ve never seen a condition lasting more than 1-3s vs a zerg or gang roaming party. But backstabs of thieves are instant, non-cleanseable damage, this is what I would call op.

Ahahahah. You’re kidding right? For a start to be hit hard by a thief with BS, they need to be behind you, and within 130 range. I frequently get 100-0’d by necros, where as I can’t even remember the last time i got instagibbed by a thief.
The amount of condi damage a necro can do with burning/terror and signet of spite to cover it all up is straight up stupid.
Oh yeah, and not all classes have a heal that consumes all conditions.
I’d be all for removing it if it meant them reverting all the nerfs it directly caused. It will never be balanced short of them peeling our bleeds to the point where the only viable condition build is one involving Dhuumfire.

That thing is literally made by DEATH, and since launch it looked like you are consumed by a black fire, make Dhuumfire BE that aura that you have during death shroud that makes people burn for 2 seconds everytime they hit you while you are in it with an internal cooldown if needed, maybe while you have the trait on, maybe move it on the defensive trait so DS won’t be as useless as it is now.

Perplexity engi’s, thiefs and mesmers say hi.. And in zergs what really kills people is direct damage, so much condition removal skills it makes dhuumfire hit like a match.

2k damage is too much? I honestly don’t see it, not with the absurd numbers other class can put out in the same amount of time.

Terror doesn’t actually do 2k dmg. I heard that from someone else on the forums and i was wrong. But to counter with “bring stability” isn’t that helpful. Some classes have much easier access to stability than others. I’d think you would understand this given your only access to stability is a grandmaster trait. You can’t tell me every WvW build or Spvp build has stability.

I am confused… i am saying that Dhuumfire ticking for 1328 damage per second + Terror ticking for 2000 damage per second, both calculated at exactly 4000 condition damage… this is OP… this can not be…
We all know how bad thieves are… i am asking for a nerf to the clearly OP necromancer, it’s absolutely ridiculous to do 3328 damage per second for a few seconds (damage that can be negated entirely) once you get to 4000 condition damage…
Thieves clearly have it so hard… please buff thieves… and bunker engineers…
Especially bunker engineers…

Backstab still works…a friend of mine – mesmer fully Ascended stats 2200 armor. Got hit by a backstab for 18806. Backstab players still exist you just don’t see as many. I dueled that thief, thank god he was a decent player or i would of been mad.

thats easy to do, the thief will pass out and die if you tickle him though.
Terror isnt OP and has bin ingame since start ( I have 1900 Condi-Dmg with 25stax + 5stax Guard.) I have Terror ticks for 1200 when other Conditions is on. (noway near 2k) Dhumfire is hitting for less then half of that. Together they hit hard no question, and u feel it if a Necro with 1900 Con-Dmg opens with Signet of Spite on you then Torment and Insta-Fear.
But here is the kicker Thieves: You want your traits,Speccs your Builds and DONT want to waste Minor Traits on Condi-Cleanse cause that interfer in your dmg-builds. Well its boring but its needed so plz dont come here and whine if u dont trait them.
No1 whined about a class like Necro Before Dhumfire but I can say from 1,5+ year playing this Class (beta tested) Condi-Necros could ALWAYS kill offensive Thieves with no problems at all, Dhumfire didnt change that and Terror was already there.
Specc right, whine less and remember as a stealth class YOU pock the kitten fights !!!

With 1900 cond dmg burning will tick 803/sec, terror: 777/s or 1165/s with other conditions on your target. And (assuming you’re in WvW when you include guard stacks) Dhuumfire will tick 7-8 times if not cleansed.

I’m saying that by using that picture to ‘prove’ thieves are OP is stupid. Since You clearly attacked a naked low level. If you have video proof of you one hitting a fully leveled fully geared player, I’ll gladly believe your picture.
Also, In response to your complaints about engie, sure, they might be immune to conditions while under 25% health, but that leaves them very vulnerable to physicial burst. It’s a risk/reward situation.
Also, how can you even complain about that when necros have a heal that is also a full condi cleanse every 25 seconds?

I never said it had a built-in smoke field. I said it has 3 potential blinds. Based on a utility sure. But you’re saying p/d has no blinds im saying it does. Like saying dhummfire has no effect since its in a trait line that provides no condition damage or crit chance.
You want to complain about what then exactly? The necro’s range on stacking conditions? Like… MoB? You don’t have enough dodges? Scepter auto attacks? Should necro’s also primarily stack conditions in melee range AND have the worst escapes and mobility in the game?
