Thoughts on how this will affect the Necromancer in WvW, PvE, and sPvP?

hardly.. its nice stats, but i think most people prefer power over vitality/ even crits over vitality..As long as we have some toughness on us

Then again.. what would i know even my dog ignores me..^^

PVE no, rabid’s toughness is more than enough, in fact too much.
SPVP, I think yes. I, as a pvp newbie, think it will be a good substitude for those PTV MM.
WVW I don’t know. I think more punch like rabid is better.

Maybe someone can enlighten me, how can we obtain this (LIGHT) armor. Cannot be leatherwork crafted, cant find any vendors, and the TP only has 2 pieces on it and they are just level 75…

Look on the Trading post for Jatoro’s armor you buy it and then double click it to change the stats to dire. You can’t do this with explorer so don’t buy explorers and attempt.

For weapons look on the trading post for Traveler’s Scepter etc… There is pearl dire gear which I believe people are getting from mystic forging. Cavalier and magi is also available on the TP.

They are expensive in some cases just a fyi.

Also make sure you double click to select stats on the character you want it on once you double click and select stats it becomes soulbound.

Crap I just went to sell a pair of jatoros boots that I had lying around, had a total brainfart, ignored the warning, changed the stats and soulbound them >.<

I think it will make for very interestingly robust 30/30/x/x/x hybrid builds. (i.e. half Soldier, half Dire).

Edit: half Dire, half Zerker hybrid would also be interesting…

Stealth nerfs are the perfect fertilizer for mistrust.

What are you guys talking about? There is no Dire prefix in sPvP. That prefix (like many other non-standard prefixes) are PvE/WvW only.

Although I’m quite interested in this stat combination which results in an even harder to kill conditionmancer in PvE and WvW. I’m still sticking to my rabid set for now though.

bad in pve (dungeons and DE tagging)
non existant in pvp
could be interesting in wvw… but condis are kind of meh unless roaming and screwed out of a lot of crit procs

I’ve found a mix of Dire armor and Rabid everything else works quite nicely (though my accessories are the Dire/Rabid). I wouldn’t go pure Dire, but you only get 12% crit chance from armor alone, and the extra vitality gives waaaay more survivability (and more damage output if you use Scavenger runes).

Im going for dire in WvW. When roaming, you face a lot of bunkers who are very hard to bring down (lots of healing, health and toughness), and it becomes a fight of attrition to see who lasts for more.

Also when fighting zergs its is very common for us to tap 20~30 targets, so if we die it could mean a very big number of enemies rezzing from downed state. So i also think it will be useful in large groups fights. Our on crit hits also arent that useful in group fights, since it does single target damage mostly (because of internal cooldown). So trading precision for vitality seems like a good choice.

I will try to go full dire on armor and maybe weapons, and full rabid on trinkets. If it ever appears on PvP, i would give a try as well. But in PvE im fine with rabid / rampagers, i dont really need more defense. Maybe on high level fractals, where you can actually die very easily, but i havent tried those.

As for where to find this gear, Crucible of Eternity is your best bet. Not only is Jatoros ridiculously expensive right now (the cheapest piece was 9g last night), but it also looks ugly.

I am wondering if I should stick with sigil of earth presently. I am full dire now except 1 accessory so my crit chance is 22% if I go with another dire accessory (which I will be able to get saturday) my crit chance should end up at 21%. I feel like with fury in DS this is sufficient for dhuumfire procs but not sure abou sigil of earth.

Rune of scavenging alone cost nothing (18s when i loot last time)
