Downed HP still not fixed.
The coding for deathshroud is awful. Why do you think every DS bug “fix” results in a new huge bug? DS coding was tied into the downed state mechanic through the UI functionality of deathshroud (Old DS UI was same as downed state and you couldn’t see conditions etc). I also find it extremely weird that our DS health is around 2/3 of our total health pool and our downed health is around 1/3 of our normal health? Around 66.66% of our downed health is coded to death shroud and maybe we are left with around 33.33% for our actual down state?
R.I.P. DS Weapon swap. What other casualties will our necros have to endure before our coding is fixed?

Time travel?
Had a discussion in wvw. Zerging around. One fight we had about 20 enemies downed. Boom, tons rally.
People blame up levels. I bring up necro downed HP. No one knew. It is now a running joke when people rally. “I rallied, necro downed!” “15 enemies rallied! Which necro died?”
I will…. I don’t know what I will do if they fix this… tell my necros they don’t have to run full pvt anymore? I still will. I enjoy the 31k health when hearding cats, I mean commanding.

I would be curious about what the bug was that was the underlying cause…. I am sure we will never get to know, and about the fix being risky…. here is hoping there is a 1 in 100 chance of becoming invulnerable in downed state!

The fact that it is tied specifically to Necro suggests to me that it is a relic from the time that DS was Downed State.
Perhaps Downed Penalty triggering when LF is run down repeatedly (since we know % health procs have been wonky with decreasing LF too)? I believe that would explain it consistently with what Bill has said (more common in PvE and WvW where people generate vastly more LF and are less concerned about using all of it up because it regens so fast).

It probably wasn’t a simple fix and involved code changes that affected a lot of other areas of code. So they need to do thorough testing before they are confident enough to release the fix, and it would be risky to try to push it out too quickly.
One shudders to imagine what inhuman code lies behind our class.

And the dream of making the necromancer the attrition class is finally achieved.
My guess is that due to the nature of the original bug (which John Peters confirmed was left over from when Death Shroud was downed state), the risk relating to the bug is regarding death shroud. I can wait for the fix to come out in order to prevent us from, say, having 1/3 normal death shroud pool or worse, not being able to access death shroud at all.
