Feast of Corruption
The skill is not supposed to deal high damage, it’s to gain life force and it’s pretty good at that.
It get you life force and you do a moderate amount of damage. Necromancer is focused on conditions and in Death shroud you can do a lot of direct damage if you specc it right. Axe autoattack could need a damage boost, that one is just ridicilous.
The damage from FoC is direct damage, so this skill actually benefits power builds much more than condition builds.
I’ve always wondered if you could make a good spike out of this skill with a Sigil of Intelligence or something. It scales up pretty nicely at 4 or 5 conditions, which is quite possible with good planning.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
With ~2300 power I get a 2K crit on FoC on Cursed Shore Risen with 4-5 conditions.
This skill hits pretty hard with Carrion gear (suck it Rabid).
I’ve gotten a few 3k hits with Unholy Feast while running with a champ farm train. Full conditions + a bunch of might stacks + 25 stacks of Vulnerability (+ Carrion trinkets) adds up to a lot of damage. You’re right that it’s generally not too much damage, though. It’s mostly for LF generation, which Scepter builds need more of, if anything.
Personally, I think this skill would be cooler if it dealt “true damage,” or damage that operated as it its target’s armor were set to the base amount of a comparable-leveled light-armored character. The numbers could be adjusted so it wasn’t too crazy, but the idea of having a reliable amount of direct damage in a condition set would make me smile.
How to Condi Reaper on a budget
Everything I say is only in reference to PvE and WvW.
Try it with zerker gear on…. it hits quite hard.
