I just hit 80 on my necro and have awful gear.

I don’t have a ton of gold so I am wondering 2 questions,

How do you Condition Damage / Precision/ Tough gear

From what I know, dungeons and wvw trader? you cant buy it for gold?

also,

what kind of budget gear should I get in the meantime to substitute for rabid stats?

You can get it from CM, TA and Arah. Also you can buy it from the trading post.

Just look for some condition damage rares until you can afford it. Order of whispers armour is rabid lvl 80 rare gear.

Orr-temples sell Rabid gear (and rabid accessories too).
If you want to buy it with money, you can look on the market place and search for ‘Khilbron’.
In the mean time, you can use (rare) Carrion (CondDamage>Power=Vita) or Rampager (Precision>Power=CondDamage) items.

Look on the TP for rare-level “Strong Conjurer” armor. It comes in several stat combinations, including Rabid (CondDmg/Prec/Tough).

To get exotic rabid gear, your better off running dungeons or buying it with badges of honor. Although you CAN buy it from the trade post (exotic named armor), your looking at a price upwards to 30-35g just for the full set. It is a very high demand armor stat distribution which isn’t craftable, making the price rather out of the way of a new player. Have you looked into a carrion hybrid build? I can reach upwards of 2.7k condition damage while roaming with guild mates and the 28k health really helps. Precision procs aren’t really needed if you know how to stack bleeds efficiently.

-Order of Whispers EQ > Rare Rabid spec.
-Karma Temples > Exotic Rabid (4 pieces of Armour, total)
-Dwayna Temple > Exotic Rabid Trinkets.
-WvW > Rare Rabid for Karma/Exotic Rabid for badges + some Gold (generally 1-2 Gold, it’s how I got the last 2 pieces for my Condition Mesmer.)
-TA/HotW/CM/Arah

Eff Khilbron, tbh. That set’s still far overpriced, considering the WvW option, and Dungeon sets.
