Q:
Jagged Horror? What do they do?
A:
Jagged horror traits:
1). Apply bleed whenever its attack connects.
Too bad it never lives long enough to do so.
2). Blows up upon death if you spec into it.
Too bad it never lives long enough to reach the enemy.
3). +20 toughness when alive.
Too bad it is never alive long enough.
Jagged horrors apply a bleed when they attack.
Can’t say anything else about them because there is nothing else good to say.
Dies, and with Death 30 spawns a cloud of poison.
Puts a green dot on your map, tricking you into believing you have a friend, but then immediately dies. Reminding you how horrible your traits are.

Ha!
they make your character do a voice-over when they die
that’s about it.
oh, sometimes bad guys in pvp will rally off them? so i guess that’s nice. for the guy you’re trying to kill. yeah.
Anyone else remember in the BWEs when the horrors didn’t degen life and die in 3 seconds? Back before we mastered death shroud, good times.
They help rally your enemies in PvP. Once your enemies get back up, make sure and throw a well of blood on the ground to keep them going strong and heal em up too!
+20 toughness if you’re traited for it.
I would drop this passive if I could, flat out eat 5 points of investment for nothing while on my way to the increased mark radius at 10 points.
Jagged Horrors: Distract foes by running at them whilst bleeding themselves to death. The self afflicted bleed has been scaled to ensure that the Jagged Horror dies before reaching the target so as not accidentally cause damage

Fix’d IMO. You’d be luck to see them land a hit.

1. Jagged Horrors does not cause rally when killed by opponents.
2. The whole wells healing enemies thing only applies to non-aggro mobs (npc mobs with yellow names like Moas), in other words, doesn’t even matter for pvp.
O that is good that horrors no longer res players any longer, not sure when they stopped or fixed that. Now if only they could make the minion AI attack what i want to attack and not the mob 5 miles from me.
Everybody ignores the best part of jagged horrors – when a thief uses his dagger throw ability it can actually hit the necromancer 2x since it will bounce of our very useful minion, thus it increases the balance of the game since thieves usually have a hard time killing necromancers so devs thought it is a good way to “even the playing field”…
Ahaha… I was so excited when I hit level 15 and finally activated my first trait!
… and then oh so very bummed when I realized all it did was bleed out.
they could’ve at least made the lil wristcutter wait to land a hit before it started to die.
It has to be the WORST and MOST useless trait in the WHOLE game – then again most of our traits are pretty poor.
They really either need to replace it or buff it up so its an actual useful thing to have -
- It would be nice if it didnt die after life 3seconds of spawning
- Would be nice if it didnt spawn AFTER the enemy was dead
- It would be nice if it didnt bleed it self dry the moment it spawned
They should make it so it like losing 1% of health per a second. Has about 50% of our health and maybe did more then just Bleed – Maybe add Poison and such to it as well and make it so that it explodes into poisonous cloud without needing the stupid trait for it
Nesso.1806 – yes they do, both the mark of horrors ones and the reanimators, you just have to freaking target em to rally what is the hard part, also no, it heals all enemies that change patterns upon aggro (risen krait, skelk, wraiths, etc).
As I said in another post, I think it would be cool if the jagged horrors would deal damage over time greater then they do now via attaching to the enemy, or using it as a suicide bomber as a leap skill as well as applying another condition (either specific or random). Least it’ll be somewhat amusing to watch/better then what we have now. Make the jagged horrors naturally have the traits that are assigned to them.

Except I’ve done exactly this, dozens of time, even one on one against necromancers in TPvP… horror dies, I’m still on the floor. Until I see definitive proof of this, I’m highly skeptical. Especially considering that most Tpvp necros run at least 20 to 30 death magic and I haven’t seen any of them, that do serious TPvP, complain about this.
Still, yes, Jagged Horrors are useless. Funny part is as a necro, seeing another necro with their jagged up makes me smile. Since it means my swarm will be able to transfer all 3 of my conditions!
Also my point still stands, wells healing enemies does not apply for PvP.

I want to know how you see the horror, it dies so quickly unless you used lich to summon 5 of them up. I miss when I could go lich, use that skill, get out of form and then summon my other pets and then I had a small army like a necro should have. I miss GW1 and my army of undead.
What do they do?
Add to the south park Emo feel of Necros by making us the only class with a pet that comits suicide.
It provides an opportunity to rally for our opponents while wasting a trait slot and aggroing unwanted enemies for us.
The jagged horror is your frenemy. Openly be nice to it, but treat it with passive aggression and don’t invite it to your sleep overs.
I hand-raised that minion.
Hmm. I always thought they were a way to see my dead gerbil again before taking 2 steps and dieing again.
(“Big Hat”)Praise the Sun!
Jagged horror stands there to give your character a reason for voice acting when you summon it and it dies.
It is by far most horrible trait ever and makes death magic even more useless than it would be without that trait at all. It basically prevents you from taking any death magic in pvp.
What do they do? Give enemy players a free rally.
If you’re downed and the jagged horror dies, you get back up.
The JH isn’t that bad but I wish it was a trait rather than a passive.

It applies a bleed if you’re lucky enough for it to hit,
It leaves a poison cloud when it dies if you invest 30 points into death magic (just about as likely to have left it in a beneficial position as the auto attack thing),
It can be an incredibly easy target for people to rally off of,
It activates your voice acting every30 seconds.
S/I/F engineer Z/R/D guard
I wish there was an easy answer for this but as most have pointed out that currently Jagged Horror is as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
It is tho a good way of telling me when I actually helped kill something in WvW and look for the bag spawn. But I just don’t get why its health depletes or why that was introduced in the first place. Lets be honest 1 Jagged horror is not exactly going to suddenly make our class overpowered. Or maybe im just not giving that wee horror enough credit.

this would be the most awesome trait ever if A) it didn’t have a self bleed and B )there wasn’t a limit on just one.
The HP could still be kitten. The attack could still be kitten. They would all still die pitifully easy with one semi-good AoE. But having a swarm of semi-useless undead rodents following you around for a bit would be gigglefits.
that said, I would be satisfied if all they did was delay the self bleed until it landed a single hit. then it would at least be in attack range before it started dying, get off 2-3 hits while bleeding out, possibly leaving a fluffy kitten weak poison AoE if you traited for it.
It’s like the emo frankenweenie of necromancer traits. A class exclusive vanity pet that hates its own cruel fate so much it cannot wait 5 minutes before it kills itself. If this were WoW and we all played on RP servers, nobody would be complaining about the flavor this minion adds to the class.
But it’s not WoW. There are no RP servers. And the Jagged Horror is dumb.
And that’s the optimistic view of it :P
They do nothing useful and prevent anyone speccing in Death Magic from having something useful in their place due to their existence.
Not sure, but I THINK the AI for jagged minions is better than all your other minions (in that it actually starts attacking faster), and that it seems to last longer the higher level you are. With the traited additional health, along with marks and DS, it seems to last a good 15 seconds or more.
Still a weenie though.
Sometimes they give Lupi a free buff.

Oh my, I laughed so hard when I saw this topic’s title, and while reading trough it.. =D
Yeah, the jagged horrors are just some emo bunnies.
