I’ve just hit 80 on my Necromancer and bought PVT AC armour just so I could do dungeons better. I’m decked out in that and Knight’s gear right now just so I can atleast stay alive and do damage, however the power build is kind of meh in my opinion and I wish to change to something else.

I’ve looked into getting a condition based build going, however I have no clue which armour set to get. TA/ARAH armour is out of the question since my guild hates TA and is mostly bad at ARAH. Khilbron’s would be an option but that is expensive as hell.

Any other sets I could consider? What builds are generally used? I’ve done research but I get a lot of mixed messages from this class. Thanks in advance!

The look of gear it’s embarassing respect to GW1, btw..
You have to focus on the stats for a viable build (so Condition Mancer or Power Hybrid kinda builds -i discourage Minion Master because of the broken AI and the low survivability of your pets-).
Citadel of Flame Paths and Honor of the Wave 1 and 2 are some of the easiest and most farmed instances, you can find people with no problems.

ALPHA, BETA, several months, … 1 Year later…“When it’s ready”[cit.]

The highest DPS will generally be either Berserker for power builds or Rampager for condition builds. Power Necro DPS will never be spectacular but they have a lot of tools like DS, blind, weakness, etc that can help you improve survivability without having to sacrifice your base stats like other classes often need to.

For power builds, I don’t think that toughness and vitality are the most important factors for survival. DS is essentially a second HP bar, so a lot of your survivability will come from being able to generate a lot of life force so that you can use DS to soak damage. Traits like Reaper’s Precision and Soul Marks can give you a lot of LF, and will fit in with a high precision build.

If you want a condition build I’d suggest looking at a mix that has condition damage on every piece, with the other stats being 2 of either power, precision, or toughness. Don’t be tempted to neglect power, as a portion of your damage still comes from direct attacks, and that portion will scale to be more important as you get a higher crit rate. This is even more important when fighting large groups of trash, as your effective DPS from conditions will be lower due to mobs likely dying before the max duration.

I highly recommend looking at the following instructive and helpful resources. These will give you a very good idea of a number of builds and what makes them work:

Decided to get a Rampagers set next to my PVT set for now. I’ll be slowly working towards a full Prec-Tough-Cond set with those 2 sets. Rampagers for full blown damage and PVT for tankyness. Jewels will stay the same across the board which is Knights.

Thanks for the links i’ll look into them for trait set-ups.
