Before i get down to the point/problem, let me provide some background info. I have been playing necromancers since Guild Wars 1. However, in guild wars 2 i have had trouble coming up with a balanced build for the Necromancer. I have tried survivability builds (toughness or vit or HP) that doesnt work too well… i tried all out Cond. Dmg (meh worked decent but didnt have that OOMPH if you know what i mean)

my problem is that i have always played survivability and i want to begin heavy dpsing as a necro, whether it be cond. dmg or physical power (power stat.. surprise…) anyway, i just want a good dps build, i have asked many on /m chat and i get mixed answers.

What i am asking you to do is to help me by telling me what traits i should use, what gear i should use, what utilities i should use… NOW before u post i want to say that im not going to completely be a build copyer, i plan to build off the posted builds to fit my playstyle.

Please, post information below (image or text or link) with traits/gear/skills… This would help me and improve my guild wars 2 experience Immensly!

This is a build I have been using lately in WvW. This build by Khalifa is what he uses/used in tPvP. Like you said you wanted I took the concept of his build and made adjustments to fit my roll in WvW. Also since gear differs from PvP to WvW I have to play with a lot of PVT knights and zerker to get the mix I was looking for. For me this build is much more fun then the common wellmancers builds but I do find it less effective in the zerg, though its much better when you get caught alone and am able to defend your self.

Could you maybe tell a little bit about what you would like to do most with your build? World v. World, PvE general map completion stuff, or maybe dungeon and/or fractal runs?
That could help.

Anyway, assuming you want to do general mish-mashy stuff, this is the ‘power’ build I use. I tried to get it defensive enough, and it works really well for me.
The Bad Jazz Build

Basically I wanted to abuse all the things that happen when you enter DS. With this build you get retaliation and fury, lose a condition, and cast enfeebling blood every time you enter DS.
The spectral skills help a lot with crowd control and Life Force gain. It might seem like overkill but both weapon sets are close-range and you tend to take more hits than other Necromancer builds.
In WvW I swap out Near to Death for Foot in the Grave, so I can have the 3 seconds of stability on Death Shroud (or 4.25 after boon duration bonus).
Overall it took me some time to get used to being so close to the action all the time with a caster, but if you get used to properly using your Death Shroud to take some blows. I hardly use skill 1 in DS, I just pop in, cast skill 2 and 3 and pop back out. Skill 4 is to survive groups of enemies.
As far as team support goes, I generate an incredible amount of vulnerability on foes, and the other damage dealers enjoy that.
