Very interesting. That would potentially allow you to double the skill’s healing, or close to it, with Cleric’s gear.
Good news for us celestial Necro’s.To bad I never use that trait,cause it’s useless.

Great news for a apothecary set user like me.
It will be still useless, since it is on 40s cooldown and you won’t get any heal.
AHAHAHAA !!!… I have predicted this change for months now… ever since i made the first necro healing build… i’ve seen new gear addition, and i predicted this change… i’ve made a new support build in advance… but i never published it…

If only life transfer worked on the necromancer. It’s definitely a nice addition to group support, but it’s on a pretty long cd and it’s easy to interrupt a necromancer. I’ll look forward to the other siphoning changes so I can bring back my old siphoning build.
Still doesn’t help the case that elementalist and guardian are far far better at group support and healing, provide boons, and combo fields people actually want. This just means that healing spec necros get something out of this trait, but not much.
Now if it worked through DS, it would be a very very nice addition. As it stands right now… in group PVP fights, I need the healing, not everyone else.

Not worth it still, i could see it being used in a PvE setting but the healing would be laughable in PvP, just too little for the amount of stats youd need to pump into it.

If they nerf our dps options for wvw mass murder and leave us with a support option (like mesmer). I will know who to blame.

We do, we “heal” our DS. It’ll still be a really strong group-support, and I am for sure testing it in my minion builds.

You heal your DS with or without the trait. That doesn’t give me any pause to take the trait.
It would be strong group support if this game had fights where healing over time was critical to winning fights. Unfortunately, the spike damage from all sources is often the only real danger players are in for, and that is not something this trait is good at mitigating.
I can think of specific builds and small group organized situations where this could see some value, but you would have to build around it. Unlike pretty much every condi build, which is good in all PVP situations, this would only be situationally good in a very specific build.
That is fine. Not every trait needs to be a must-have in every build; having a few that are niche, so long as they are good in that niche and that niche is a real niche (not just some crappy build that you made and call it a “niche” build because it sucks in 99% of situations).
But still, a 5k AoE heal is going to be quite good for support. PvE it might not be worth a lot, but that is a great heal for zerging, and for PvP support. I know for sure that I am going to be trying it out for all of my minion builds that I am using Cleric/Shaman gear in.
