It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.

I can’t even get putrid mark’s combo blast finisher to work if I’m standing on top of spectral wall. So I’m not entirely sure that the spectral wall combo field work’s with putrid mark at all. Some have said that it works at the caster’s feet, not the case with me.
I’m still managing to make it work: are you sure you’re putting the mark at wherever you were standing when you cast spectral wall, rather than wherever you were standing when casting putrid mark?
Current notes: I’d like to look into rally-on-kill effects triggering on minions. I was sure I saw a Red post stating this shouldn’t be the case, but I’m not totally clear on how that mechanic functions yet.
I think this is the thread you wanted (had to resort to a Google search to find it!):
Oh, thank you! That is the post I was looking for. Has anyone heard tell of Warriors Vengeance rallying off of minions or the like recently?
Edit:
lichs 5 get blocked by aegis, yet the description says it rips enemy boons.
Was just playing with this some more: Lich 5 can be blocked when a foe uses a ‘blocking’ effect, (I tested it on ornery crabs: the Regen was not ripped and I got the Blocked! text) which seems fine, but I still don’t know if Aegis does it or not, because I can’t think of a single controllable / repeatable situation where an enemy has Aegis.

I’ve run into the following bug with Spectral Walk a few times in the last week.
Say you have utility 1 on CD. Then you switch utility 2 to spectral walk. the newly slotted spectral walk will be on CD, sharing exactly the same CD as utility 1.

In the last patch notes, they disabled/fixed rallying off of things that give you 0 experience for killing them. This includes Necro minions, Ranger pets, and other summons. I haven’t noticed anything rallying off minions since this change. I even saw a Warrior use Vengeance and kill a minion of a fellow necromancer, then die.

I will try to test this with some guildies in sPvP when I get home from work.

I have noticed this as well, except with Spectral Wall and Spectral Grasp. So the problem doesn’t seem to be localized to any particular ability. I haven’t been able to reproduce it consistently, though

The blast finisher doesn’t activate until someone triggers the mark (I think). Perhaps that is another reason you’re not seeing it.

Much appreciated, lettucemode.
Just managed to get Blood is Power on the same recharge as Signet of Undeath. It has something to do with getting a skill on cooldown, switching the location of the skill by re-arranging the bar, then changing the skill that was in its old position to something completely different.
I’ll look into this on the general Bug Forums, since it doesn’t seem to be limited to a single skill, and affects multiple classes. (I just caused it on my Mesmer as well.)

In my experience, the blast finisher is decided when you cast the mark, but stored until the mark actually triggers. Once it triggers, the blast finisher is created as well. So you can actually get a Chaos Armor long after Spectral Wall has faded!
Just tested in the Mists with a guildie – Aegis does block Grim Specter, the Lich Form #5 ability. Since the tooltip says it “rips boons off of allies” I think we can call it a bug.

You mean ‘foes’, not ‘allies’, right?
In any case, thanks for confirming this. It probably got missed in the pass that made most boon ripping skills remove Aegis properly, since it’s buried inside an elite form.
Also, I was looking into Signet of the Locust & Bloodthirst… As far as I can tell, they interact in very odd ways that change from PvP to PvE. I’ll look into it a bit more tomorrow, try and find before and after formulas.

Consume conditions is bugged vs the ranger binding roots elite. You use your heal to get rid of the roots but this only happens very briefly and then you get binding roots on you again and immobalised again. Not sure why this is but its dam annoying.
I mentioned this a long time ago, but dont’ see it in the bug list here: Greater Marks doesn’t increase the size of marks placed while in Lich Form.

I could be wrong, but I think Binding Roots Entangle is a non-standard debuff. It applies immobilize periodically until the roots are destroyed, so even if you cleanse the immobilize, another is reapplied. You can’t cleanse Entangle itself because it’s not a standard condition.

Consider it added to the list.
I posted this at the old Bug compilation Thread. I think it’s a huge Bug and I am surprised so few know about this.
I notice that the AOE form the Plague Elite Skill is a lot bigger when a lager Character cast it.
In the Description of the Skill the range is set to 240. So the AOE Effect of e Big Norn are way to big.
I am a Asura and my Guild buddy is a Char his AOE is a way bigger than mine.

I’m really sorry that I didn’t get this one in there! The time I tried to add that bug may have been from the ‘One gigantic post’ period, where a lot of my edits were lost instead of saved.
When I did some research into this, I found that my Charr’s AoE was bigger than a 240 radius AoE (Lay down an improved mark, my Plague form was slightly bigger). However! It seems that the AoE indicator is not strictly accurate: in my experience, targets wouldn’t actually be affected by Plague when they were just inside the AoE ring – they had to be a bit further in yet, until they reached 240 from my location.
tl;dr for the last paragraph – the AoE ring indicator is bugged, the actual AoE appears to be a constant 240 radius across characters.
It should be on the list now.
EDIT: Turns out my character count on the first post is again nearing the limit. Since space is at a premium there, I cut a few things out (suggestions for submitting bugs especially.)

Parasitic Bond trait tooltip bug. The tooltip text is wrapped in double parentheses, i.e.:
((Gain life when you kill something. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.))
This was first noted by Unpredictability:

Corrupt boon = blocked by aegis which is gained by the thieves steal spell from the guardian (I think). Anyone manage to reproduce this?
Spectral Walk removes swiftness when going in or out of water while Spectral Return is active and you dont have Spectral Walk eqipped as both normal and underwater utility.
This has probably been reported before and is written in the wiki, but is not in the list here.
Imo it’s a bug because you can just double tap and keep the swiftness, but it’s annoying having to do so or wait for the the 8s to pass.

I’ll put a bug about it.
It’s not a bug that it removes the swiftness granted by spectral walk, since you’re supposed to lose the benefits of spectral walk as soon as it leaves your skill bar, which should include the swiftness. But it is a bug that removing Spectral Walk from your skill bar clears all swiftness, so I’ll note that.

In the same vein as the spectral walk bug, if you leave lich/plague form early you lose all stability, not just the stability granted from that form. Seems Anet only knows how to outright remove a boon.

Does this happen on other classes? Like does dropping a thief’s dagger storm remove other sources of stability, etc.?
Epidemic doesnt work on dragon events specific sunless when the adds spawn epidemic doesnt do anything, animation is also missing.
Would probely need more confirmation on this.
To comment on the stability from lich/plaque and loosing stability “all of it at” it also renders + boon duration pointless for those 2. <- was a nice ducktape fix they did there.
reapers protection dosent work on thiefs basilisk
spectral grasp does have some clear problems, quite a few times all i get is the enemy being shoved towards me abit and not actually pulled :/
reapers protection dosent work on thiefs basilisk
This… May be intentional. Basilisk venom isn’t a stun, it’s “Stone”. Reaper’s protection procs on a lot of things, (stun, daze, knockdown, sink…) but Stone isn’t one of them. It also doesn’t proc when petrified by a normal basilisk in PvE.
Stone has weird mechanics, and it originally you couldn’t stun-break out of it, so I think it’s intended to circumvent a lot of control defenses, like Reaper’s Protection.

I’m kind of mixed on this. The most similar skill I can think of it Scorpion Wire, and it tends to act very similarly to spectral grasp (except it doesn’t chill.) Neither of them can pull NPCs over edges, upwards or downwards. I also can’t get either of them to fail consistently over pathable terrain. I have seen it connect and ‘trip’ instead of full pull when there were no visible edges, but the bug seems neither specific to Necromancers or reproducible.

Actually, strike that bit about Tequatl & Epidemic. (I edited it out of my last post.) I happened to fight him tonight and yeah, couldn’t see Epidemic anywhere. All 9 times I used it (range indicator said I was okay) and had most of the dragon in my view, I couldn’t see that characteristic darksplosion animation anywhere, nor any conditions on the creepers.
Part of the problem is, depending on where the center of Epidemic is when targeting these things, it might not even reach the ground because these guys are so huge. So it might be working but useless in these fights? I’ve put it on the list, since it would be a really fun functionality to have.
If anyone has more insight on this, I’d love to have it.

Yea, that’s how the boon system works. If you gain a boon that you already have, the durations or stacks are combined into one boon. That’s why you can remove someone’s stack of 25 might that they got from a zerg blast finishing into a fire field, for example.
There was a separate change some time ago that if you removed Spectral Walk from your skillbar, you would lose the swiftness you got from it, too. This was to prevent people using the skill then switching it out for something else at the start of a match in sPvP. It had the side effect of removing all swiftness you had prior to that point too since boons are condensed, as stated above. So, unfortunate, but intended behavior, and IMO not a bug.
I consider it a bug because it’s a lazy work around for a minor exploit. As it is I can go into water and lose a minute or so of swiftness because I don’t have walk on my underwater bar. By the same logic if a guardian used retreat then ran into the water he’d lose swiftness because he doesn’t have access to that skill anymore. So yeah not technically a bug, but it’s a poor fix to the old problem.

Except once a guardian burns retreat, they’re stuck with the full recharge. You can swap out spectral walk from your skill bar if you do so before spectral recall expires: allowing you to not eat the recharge gives people 30+ seconds of swiftness without using a utility slot, if they’re willing to micro-manage a little.
But that’s a bit irrelevant. The reason I’m not listing it is, while spectral walk is a necromancer skill, this interaction is game wide:
It just shows up in spectral walk. This probably sounds like a BS reason to keep it off the list but I’m trying to keep the scope of the thread just to necromancer specific bugs. And this is a flawed game mechanic, but not necromancer-specific.
Alright so. I went through some / most of the bugs in the list today.
I removed all lot of things in light of the patch changes. In no particular order:
It’s looking much better: a lot of the bugs remaining are tooltips failing to display new/accurate details. I haven’t gone through the entire list (Just things marked 26 Feb, 2013) so if anyone else notices new fixes (or new bugs! :c ) please make a post!

Plague form as a Asura does actually have a smaller Radius, the area shown when using the skill is the actual range..
Unless my Blood Fiend can passively heal, or it’s healing from its own criticals, Reaper’s Touch does bounce to minions. I have not been able to actually see if the Blood Fiend or other minions get the Regeneration boon due to the game constantly crashing, but I will get back to you when I have that information.
Plague signet sometimes fails to activate even when i let go of my mouse and let him auto face the target. The signet goes on full cooldown but none of the conditions are sent.
This happens sometimes when im directly facing an opponent, if your going to test, make sure to test in pvp or wvw on players and test multiple times as it works sometimes. Seems to be about 50/50 chance.

Plague form as a Asura does actually have a smaller Radius, the area shown when using the skill is the actual range..
Managed to test this exact thing with an Asuran guildmate from But of Corpse:
The active area of Plague Form on an Asura is larger than the AoE indicator. Significantly so. Enough to make it actually match the 240 radius listed on the skill.

I still can’t get this to work. I can have blood fiend face-tanking an enemy, use reaper’s touch from about 750ish range, and the spell won’t bounce. The blood fiend receives no regeneration, and the enemy mob still has only 4 stacks of vulnerability.

Gonna take a moment here to specify something about how I test skills in general:
The reason I don’t test in live PvP / WvW is because there is a lot of defensive options that come up very quickly when you’re fighting other players. There are surprise blinds, aegis, blocks, dodges, invulnerability and evasion frames that I simply cannot control for.
Where I do test is in Heart of the Mists, because I’ve always had it asserted to me that that place functions identically to PvP zones, and the sparring NPCs generally provide enough mechanics and predictability to see if a skill works in a general case.
Edit: Turns out you can use Plague Signet to transfer conditions even while facing directly away from your target, as long as you have them selected when you use the active.

Ok then its even more bugged then I thought, it should send the conditions roughly 90% of the time I activate it. Many times I free cast it on apponents from medium-long range, they have no aegis and im not blinded, and it still does nothinf.
They arnt just flukes, im gonna post a video here if im able, demonstrating the innacuracy of it.

I’d very much appreciate it! Sometimes a recording can show a subtle link that I simply can’t catch on to the first time around. I just don’t have the resources to record all of my game play.
I can test again, but when i went plague form, i didnt hit the chicken until it touched my circle. which is much smaller, did test in WvW tho
The last little tornado/plague patch you threw in completely broke Geomancy sigils.
Every time you enter plague while superior sigil of Geomancy are equipped to your weapons they go dumb and stop working.
They dont start working untill you RE-enter plague which is 120s cd. It completely nullifies my build atm and really sucks, I can either go with the pet or use plague only once per game.
And I don’t know whats up with corrupt boon but it works 40% of the time, and if this is working as intended can we get some basic guidelines on how it works and when it wont work so we know what we are dealing with.
(iv seen previous threads about this so I know im not the only one thinking this way)

Where is this happening, exactly? (PvE, PvP, WvW?) I like to try and test bugs myself, but I can’t seem to reproduce this in Heart of the Mists, and I’d love a little more info before I buy a Superior Sigil to test this. Do you have the sigil equipped on just one weapon? Both? What weapons specifically?
This is bizarre and I really want to nail down exactly what’s causing it.
This is Spvp bug report. Sorry didnt make that clear.
and I am fully aware of the cd and icd and all that. It is from plague form, I play 20-30 tournaments a day and know if I hit plague then my sigils are useless.
PS, I just tried something, it appears if I manually leave plague before the timer on it runs out then the sigils still work, its when I run it out to its full run time they cease to work.
Epidemic does not appear to work on multi-hitbox boss monsters. (Tequatl, The Forgeman, etc) (23 Feb, 2013) -Note: The skill may work, but simply be out of range of other mobs because the boss is about the size of Epidemic’s radius to start with. Needs more testing.
I can confirm that epidemic does not work on the Nightmare Tree in Twilight Arbor explorable, which is another boss of this nature. In the forward/forward path of TA there are Veteran Oakheart phantasms that chase you around the end boss room, and they can stand right on top of the Nightmare Tree. I’ve used Epidemic on the Tree when the adds were clearly in range and condition spread did not occur.
Weakening Shroud has a cooldown. When traited for 5 second Death Shroud, Weakening Shroud only appears once every 2nd death shroud.

Weakening Shrould is known to have a cooldown of 15s. And it doesn’t trigger on every 2nd DS tap if you trait for Near to Death, it’s on every 3rd as it would be. It’s in the Wiki.

So is it just me or does the Chill of Death trait still seem to be triggering at something much lower than the 25% health stated in the tooltip? This is just me eyeballing it from using it on the golems in the mist. The GW2 wiki says it is triggering at 15% but it’s so hard to tell.

It triggers when you hit them when they are already below 25%. It doesn’t trigger on the damage source that brings them below 25%. Try equipping the steady weapons and remove all your armor and traits and see when it triggers.

I’ve been in two minds about this one for a while. On the one hand, traits not listing their internal recharge is a fairly regular thing, and is more the work of a wiki than a bug list. On the other, weakening shroud is the only “On entering Death Shroud…” trait to have a recharge, so it’s easy to think it would activate every time. I’ve added it to the list. If there’s significant complaint, I’ll take it off.
Spectral Attunement trait (curses X) does not seem to affect the duration of Last Gasp (Soul Reaping 15) minor trait. It still only procs for 6s instead of the 8s the skill gets from the trait.
Added. If Greater Marks gets to upgrade the relevant traits, and Banshee’s Wail works with Decaying Swarm, spectral attunement should work with Last Gasp too.

As far as I can tell, Chill of Death still works correctly (On land. Underwater it doesn’t show up at all. As lettucemode noted, it procs when you hit an enemy below 25%, similar to other % health trait procs.
While browsing the wiki, I found a pretty well-researched thing about Quickening Thirst (Doesn’t give 10% for dagger off-hand, no dagger main hand) so I’ve put that up as well. As noted it could be intentional, but the trait text implies exactly the opposite.

Already on the list and has been that way since launch. Were a few threads on how Spiteful Talisman was half fixed with damage increase for Spinal Shivers but not the cooldown on Reaper’s Touch this last patch.
Perhaps we should make a thread about Spiteful Talisman on Bug forums just to get some attention to it, like the thieves did for Hidden Killer that got quickly fixed a few days later. Yep.

In ArenaNet’s defense (Something I rise to a bit too often, probably) Hidden Killer just recently got broken and was a gameplay-defining grandmaster trait. Spiteful Talisman doesn’t quite compare in its severity.
I won’t dissuade anyone from making a thread in the bugs forum. I just feel like this one is enough for me, since I’m rather certain it’s watched.
This one i noticed in Spvp.I m at around 500 range of the enemy and when casting focus skills it usually says out of range. :S
I play dagger in pvp and i ve noticed that minions atack your target with a 2 3 sec delay
The conditions that i noticed this happening is :
1. when you are in a 1 vs 1 pvp battle vs assasin and warrior
2. when you play as a dagger necromancer
3.usualy vs melee clases but i m not sure
the problem is in this 1 2 3 sec delay the enemy can hit you 3 4 times and from what i have read from some other post this is a a problem mostly with the minions AI ,i consider it a bit unfair and unpractical to play as a minion master if your minions start hitting the enemy after you have received 1/4 of your life in damage
The reaseon i posted is in a recent pvp battle i was up against a assasin hitting him with dagger and the minions where just running after me insted of atacking him(note i did do damage to him) i dont really understand if this is just a balance issue or the AI is made that way but from what necros ive seen in pvp battles(not many) you really dont see that many minions with them
Edit : now its worse they just go past the enemy and dont atack at all im going to link a video on youtube to prove my point
(edited by alex.7364)
Is anyone else getting the focus “out-of-range” thing with focus abilities? I haven’t really noticed this, but most of my sPvP experience is in Heart of the Mists rather than actual matches.
@alex: I’d love to see the video! Although, minions having a delay isn’t that surprising to me. I think minions require a few attacks to land from the necro before they ‘lock on’ to a target, to prevent them from randomly chasing after anything hit by a stray attack. My guess is that in the circumstances you’ve outlined, you’re having trouble landing those first few attacks, leading to the minions not engaging on your target.
