Soul reaping trait Unyielding Blast does not affect underwater Life Blast.

On the other hand Reaper’s Might does have an effect on the underwater version. Underwater skill’s name appears to be changed from Plague Blast because wiki skill refers to underwater Life Blast if you search for Plague Blast.

(NB0119) Plague stability is ignored by Point Blank Shot. – was just me not notincing that there was a warrior and getting the icon hidden stability purged off

(NB0115) If you enter DS while getting hit by a channeled damaging ability, the damage “bleeds” through to your regular health instead of / in addition to hitting the DS life force pool. – can confirm with all skills that also get the enemy stuck in place, other channels dont apply to this

(NB0116) If you get transformed into a Moa Bird you can’t leave Death Shroud.
- Moa Shroud much? (look at the image and you will notice the DS button gone)

(NB0118) Weapons > Axe > Tooltip reports that 4% life force is gained for the entire channel, that would be .5% life force per tick of the attack. 8% life force is actually gained, 1% per tick. – can confirm

(NB0122) Life Stealing Has the opposite effect on Enemies (Bug report)
(NB0123) Wells and Life Stealing are healing the enemies (Bug report)
- life stealing from vampiric itself is not problematic (it doesnt heal enemies) as long as you dont have any points in Curses, but if you do make wells ground targeted and get all the vampiric skills, both you and the mob get healed for 46+ around 900~ if the well tick crits.

Siphoned Power Trait: Gain Might when hit and under 25% health.

Superior Rune of Svanir (6): You become a Block of Ice for 5 seconds (Invulnerable) when hit and under 20% health.

When you become invulnerable you no longer gain any Might from Siphoned Power when being hit.

@iSinner: I can confirm that it is not bugged. I got overkilled by a dungeon boss with a sliver of the Death Shroud HP bar left and got downed instantly.

I can confirm that i hit for 8k when necro has 5% health and 5% DS, and he exits his ds form and still has 5% health. So yeah, it is bugged. May be in pve it is different with mobs, but in pvp it is bugged. So many times it happened, it is not event funny.

iSinner.4285 – simple, make a screenshot, since the simple fact that we die from falling if we are in DS with 8% of LF and full hp from a small fall (since it counts LF as a life bar), but a massive attack from a mob still hits you to hp if it takes your DS away.

Appearantly ANet considers minions dying when changing forms to be a feature not a bug. They changed the descriptions of Plague and Lich Form to state this. So yeah… I am willing to bet this applies to being Moa Morphed aswell. I guess this is ANet’s way of fixing bugs, change the description of the abilities.

Well, I can only speak out of my own experience, but I haven’t had it randomly miss once yet after the patch. Then again, I was using it for a week or so before the patch and didn’t experience any “random misses” then either — only the very annoying blocks when I forgot to blow up aegis beforehand. This all regarding Corrupt Boon, of course.

Hi,
I Think that necrotic grasp, when it critically hits does not activate Vampiric precision neither. I’ve tried this on my necro and I never had a siphon even if I critically hit.
Anyone with the same issue?

Yeah, Idk if this has been posted in this section before but I read a thread about the amount of hp you get from DS and did some testing. As I could not find the original thread again I made my own to share some info. I think we have a bug with a soul reaping trait line (or I should say another). It seems that by placing points in the line we only get half of the benifits… being the 30% increase to critical damage. The extra 30% to lifeforce bar seems non existant.

If anyone can confirm my findings please follow up here or in that thread, I will be checking it later on again here and there. But in regards to what seems to be an apparent bug, I think someone should get on this right away as I dont seem to be aware of any other classes that suffer from only half benefits by putting points in a trait line. It is bad enough Gluttony does nothing, but if in fact we also do not get a bigger bar by using that trait line then what is the point of it dedicating a line for our main class mechanic. I may have a little over reaction to the severity regarding this, but im sure everyone knows what i am trying to imply here.

If you devs are out there reading this, a post would be nice but I recognize that you probably have your hands full either way. I just feel that this is a pretty important bug to fix, regardless of what class I play.

Based on the fact that your LF percentage no longer decreases when you put points into Soulreaping, clearly something has changed (because I know it used to decrease slightly for every point you put into it, indicating a higher max LF). And based on your findings, it seems to be that SR no longer increases LF pool.

I can confirm that Corrupt Boon and Spinal Shivers are now fixed and no longer blocked by Aegis.

However, Plague Signet has some serious issues with fizzling, even when facing foes. It seems like the trajectory window(frontal cone) for it to place the conditions on your targeted foe is extremely narrow compared to say, the trajectory window for a thief’s backstab or applying a bleed on a ranger’s crossfire.

I constantly get problem where deathshroud or plague does not change appearance or skillbar. Makes it extremely difficult to tell if you’re still polymorphed, very annoying in pvp. I have no idea what causes this. It used to work ok before halloween updates, I think.

Existing plague early still leaves the white circle around the character.

NB0001: Still triggers on any damage in DS, but you can still cast spells and attack while the invulnerable effect is on you.

NB0018: I tested Spectral Grasp against many Mists NPCs on all kinds of terrain. It never once failed while I was in range. So probably fixed! FIXED

NB0102: I couldn’t get the combo field to trigger at all I’m bad at this game…

NB0022: Could not reproduce. I have not noticed this skill missing when I have used it. FIXED

NB0023: Putrid Explosion still does not trigger Death Nova. Death Nova DOES trigger when the necromancer goes into the downed state (wtf?).

NB0025: Still bugged.

NB0113: The tooltip says “creates a field that poisons foes and leaves them weakened.” It applies weakness and poison to a foe once for each time the enter the circle. So if a foe enters the circle, then leaves it, then enters it again, they get the conditions applied twice, once for each time they entered. I think the tooltip is accurate as written. FIXED

NB0112: Still behaves that way.

Spite Traits
NB0095: Still does not apply the damage of Spinal Shivers.

NB0109: Still doesn’t work, tested against Mists NPCs. I could have sworn it worked a few days ago in WvW…oh well.

Curses Traits
NB0038: Still only applies 1 stack of bleed.

NB0040: Does not increase Spectral Walk swiftness duration, but DOES increase the length of time you are allowed to teleport back to the original location from 8s to 12s. I think that counts as behaving correctly. However, the tooltip still says 8s, so that’s still bugged. FIXED, MOSTLY

NB0042: Still doesn’t work with Plague of Darkness.

NB0044: Fear damage DOES appear in the combat log. FIXED

NB0084: Icon still changes, still bugged.

Death Magic Traits
NB0046: Chillblains is still the only one with the larger targeting indicator.

NB0053: Still doesn’t reduce minion active skill recharge time. I think this is intended, though.

Blood Magic Traits
NB0056: Still does not increase the siphon amount.

NB0065: Still doesn’t scale with +healing, but I’m confident this is intended behavior. +healing didn’t increase health siphoning in GW1 either, and we have access to the Bloodthirst trait if we want it increased. I think this “bug” should be removed from the list.

NB0066: Could not reproduce. Siphoning occurs on every skill use, every tick of a well…all attacks trigger it. FIXED

NB0100: Still doesn’t siphon in those forms.

NB0068: Siphons for 32/hit at level 80, and yes, it’s affected by Bloodthirst. FIXED

NB0069: Critical hits on skills DO trigger the siphon. eagly, Necrotic Grasp crits do trigger Vampiric Precision, so does everything else. FIXED

Thanks for your time checking some of the bugs.

NB0121 is not fixed, turn on spell recharge in game options and use Reaper’s Touch with the Spiteful Talisman trait. It fails at any range beyond 900 and the cooldown is 18 seconds after use. The only fixed thing about it is the tooltip, which is masking the underlying bug.

Starting to wonder if the Necrotic Grasp loudness is a similar bug to the loud voices that used to be in cities. This in that the code can’t make up its mind where the sound is originating from outside the character so it is played as if point blank on the character and ends up being overly loud. This because i have so far not noticed any such loudness from fellow necromancers in group events.

Fynd, I disagree. I use the spell recharge option. I tested it in the Mists, removing and adding the trait several times. Each time, both focus spells “flipped” on the bar. Reaper’s Touch did NOT fail at any range in 900-1200 and the cooldown was 14s after use. I’m not crazy :P

TurboWhale, I couldn’t reproduce that. I got healed for the same amount it said on the tooltip, which means it removes the poison before healing. I don’t ever remember it working differently, either.

I can confirm the anomaly that you’re seeing, as well. Reaper’s Touch with Spiteful Talisman is ONLY fixed in “The Heart of the Mists”. In any other zone, it reverts to 18s recharge/900 range after skill use.

Just try using it on anything in orr while downhil, they will move half pixel, be on the ground for half a second and not even close to melee of you.

I’m somewhat baffled why this topic is still around. Its obvious Anet doesn’t care.
On side note…

  • Mad Kings Outfit – Weapons brawling skill 1 and 4(feast) reset score for necromancer only. Both primary attack and feast table attack actually do some bizzare damage that is healed right after and cause score to reset.
    Even payed content for necro is bugged. Give it up… best thing that can happen is necromancer gets removed and they leave existing necros as unsupported class.

Bumped into a little something, that while not a bug is at least annoying.

Basically, putting the mouse of the target info ui up top results in marks and other ground targets being dropped centered on the necromancer.

This is annoying in groups where i want to stand a bit back and drop marks, but to see the ground i am targeting i have to tilt the camera forward. end result is that the target may well be behind said UI…

TL;DR Life Force Pool (aka Hunger) isn’t doing anything: add it, cause that’s bad!

Also in the threads mentioned by Arvid: Results from my tests, and then confirmed by Avrid, suggest conditions do double damage to life force. This additional damage is not shown by the combat log or floating combat numbers. We came to this conclusion because when only taking condition damage the effective health pool in death shroud appears to be half of what it is when only taking direct, power based, damage.

To my knowledge all tests (including my own) were done using self applied conditions (corrupt boon and blood is power) and so this could be introducing an unknown factor.

TL;DR Bug: Condition damage drains life force twice as fast as other damage sources.

I’m finding casting Staff 1 through a Well of Blood is coming up with the condition removal combo heart, but never removing any of my conditions. I understand it’s a 20% chance, but, I’ve been paying attention for several Ascend to Madness runs and haven’t removed any conditions this way yet. Is this just me, or has anyone else noticed this?

Anyone who plays a necro might want to test some of the skills/traits they’ve been avoiding in case they’ve been stealth-fixed. I’ve been testing various things in the Mists and noticed they’re not bugged, but it’s hard to test some of these under controlled conditions in PVE and I always forget to ask friends to help me test.

Here’s what I’ve found — and again, most of these were tested in the Mists so they might follow some odd PVP-only rules, so feel free to correct these:

  • (NB0021) Plague Signet now works — passively draws conditions and removes them from allies (although how many conditions/targets at a time, I don’t know), and activating the signet removes all of them from you.
  • (NB0093) Deathly Swarm (Dagger 4) removes three conditions from the player and applies them to ALL targets hit.
  • (NB0066) Vampiric seems to work with just about anything that hits an enemy, including marks and wells.

New/unlisted bug?

  • Fetid Consumption: When drawing conditions off of you, minions simply make the condition disappear, i.e. they don’t receive it. Still doesn’t affect Bone Minions.

I noticed a lot of things are being fixed without being put into patch notes — or did I just miss them? For example, I noticed on my engineer that the condition immunity trait now works, albeit tested only in the Mists via the campfire (which applies burning).

Pet aggro is completely messed up. Golem stand around for 20 seconds at a time before he decides to help me, other minions do the same. this has been happening for 1 week + and it very game breaking to not have my elite skill help me. this happens in wvw, pve, spvp, tpvp, and anywhere.

Not seeing this in PVE. I had both a bleed and a cripple on me and hitting one target with dagger 4 removed only a single condition.

Honestly i fear the game code is a copy and paste mess at this time, where the same issue shows up multiple places.

Need Confirmation

  • (NB0125) Curses: Lingering Curse: does not affect cripple from Grasping Dead
  • (NB0126) Dark Armor: Doesn’t work for “Life Leech” and “Bandage”
  • (NB0127) Death into Life: Doesn’t work with Dark Armor: While Channeling, Power is not increased by 20 when toughness is increased by 400.
  • (NB0004) Full of life “Gain 5 seconds of regeneration” will trigger after entering DS and receive foe damage. (Ignores %HP trigger)
  • (NB0105) Last Gasp “Gain Spectral Armor” will trigger after entering DS and receive foe damage. (Ignores %HP trigger)
  • (NB0114) After summoning a flesh worm if you use necrotic transversal it counts as a kill/type on the daily kills count.
  • (NB0115) If you enter DS while getting hit by a channeled damaging ability, the damage “bleeds” through to your regular health instead of / in addition to hitting the DS life force pool.
  • (NB0117) Death Magic > Greater Marks > Placing a Chilblains mark erroneously triggers the sound effect for the Death Shroud 4-skill, Life Transfer. This only occurs if the Necromancer has the Greater Marks trait.

In Spite: Training of the Master is not updating the tooltip for minions.

The Bone Fiend is not doing the damage listed on it’s tooltip. At level 80, it states a damage output of 572, but it barely goes over 400 between the two hits on a Heavy Golem. It will also spontaneously hit for over 800 damage between the two hits while not being a critical. Rigor Mortis does not increase its damage output as the tooltip implies either.

I was going to make a ‘working as intended’ argument, based on the fact that very little traits seem to work in Downed State (mainly because they can’t apply to it); then I read “Attributes gained from traits now apply to the downed state.” (October 7th update), so yeah…

You mean Deadly Strength. I can’t test it atm, but if it doesn’t I can see this being working as intended: these types of traits might just not take these temporary boosts into account. Similarly, one could test what the effect of sigil of Bloodlust or Lich form are on Death into Life.

Also, if you haven’t already, please take a look at the soul reaping bug(s) brought up earlier on this page (by XXVI Red and Vadren).

striker.3704 – only if you have the transfusion trait and that is intended, only that while in DS because of Life force calculation the healing on you is wasted, just like all healing skills

Can confirm that.
Only works, when DS went off itself while channeling. Start Life transfer with ~5% of life force.

Does not work when you cancel DS by yourself. (Press F1 ind DS again)
